PLOT:
Talia makes a visit to Dr. Kendall's new lab on Pollepel Island where deep underneath the Hudson River, the Mother of Champions is being kept prisoner and forced into repeated induced labor. Talia is pleased with this 'Plan B' of sorts as she
learns that although the children are still aging at an accelerated pace they grow up to possess the strength of twenty men and the ability of flight! Once Kendall is able to isolate the gene responsible for the aging problem, Talia's legion of devoted soldiers should be
ready to protect her from her twisted father.
Still clutching the ominous photo of Deb given to him by Talia, Nightwing is keeping watch outside Deb's apartment when he is attacked by Talia and Kendall's winged warriors. After giving the relative new-born soldiers a scenic tour of the skies above New York, Nightwing is able to gain the upper hand and
successfully captures one of his attackers and brings him back to the Batcave. Although the soldier quickly ages
into an old man while in captivity, he still refuses to give up the details of his father's "glorious cause." Nightwing asks Alfred to run an analysis on a strange residue found on the soldier's wings.
Meanwhile, Terry Gene Kase (the assumed identity given to Ra's al Ghul when Batman placed him in Arkham) is being given his evening bed check. Before leaving, one of the doctors mistakenly drops their ink pen before leaving the room. A short amount of time passes and when a guard returns to check on Kase, he finds
that Kase had taken the pen and used it to sever almost every single major artery in his arm. The doctors rush to Terry Gene's aid and are forced to give the ageless terrorist a full blood
transfusion. With the sedatives now fully cycled out of his body, Ra's Al Ghul springs up from his catatonia and
murders his attending physicians before making an escape from Arkham.
Word of Ra's Al Ghul's escape reaches the Batcave and Batman and Robin take off in hopes of locating the Demon's Head. Nightwing meanwhile has other business to attend to.
Dick stops by Talia's yacht to deliver a message. When Talia opens the enveloped passed onto her by her guard she immediately flies into a blind rage. Inside is a single photograph of Damian
Wayne asleep in his bed with a note attached with implicit instructions that
Talia is to stay away from Dick's friends and families, lest she want to receive
the same treatment. Talia begins screaming ripping apart the walls in search of
the spy camera Nightwing had placed.
Alfred finishes the analysis of the residue from the soldier's wings and identifies it as a gun powder. This in turn leads Dick directly to the Hammer Armory on Pollepel Island and Dr. Kendall's base of operations.... |
