Young Billy Batson was granted amazing powers by the wizard Shazam to fight evil in all its forms. Drawing power from ancient beings (Solomon's wisdom, Hercules' strength, Atlas' endurance, Zeus' power, Achilles' invulnerability and Mercury's speed) he has but to call Shazam's name to be transformed from a young teenager, reporter for WHIZ radio, to the mature and mighty Captain Marvel. Recently he discovered his sister, Mary, the two of them having been kept apart for many years, and has shared the power with both her and a friend called Freddy, who was injured at the hands of the evil Captain Nazi.
