PLOT:
With the gunfire still bearing down heavily upon them, Nightwing decides to flee from his landing point to try to get Carol to a safer location. Using his infra-red goggles to locate
one of Batman's hidden safe-houses, Nightwing deposits Sarah in the safe-house and takes off once again in the Glider headed towards Wayne Manor.
After crashing landing into the Bat-Cave, a barely conscious Dick is attended to by Alfred who surgically removes the bullet and bullet fragments from Dick's arms and shoulder. Dick at first insists on the use of Lidocaine for the procedure so that he can stay awake while
Alfred tends to his wounds. While discussing Bruce's disappearance however, Alfred injects Dick with something a bit stronger so that he can finish the surgery. After finishing up, Alfred washes his hands and sits next to Dick and falls asleep himself
By the time Alfred awakens, Dick is already speeding towards the safe-house on Robin's motorcycle to check on Carol. He begins giving her a more thorough tour of the safe-house and all of it's precautionary measures when Carol's cell phone rings. Without thinking, Carol answers the phone but Dick grabs it
from her and hangs up. After the phone is fit with an anti-tracing device, it rings again and this time it's Dick who answers. With the phone switched to speakerphone, but Dick and Carol talk to Harvey on the other line who is calling to check on Carol and confess his motivations for wanting her life saved.
Nightwing takes off back to Manhattan to secure another Glider from the Cloisters. On his way back he receives a call from Alfred. The bullets removed from Nightwing's body contained trace elements of Scarecrow's fear toxin. Just then Nightwing receives a notice that there has been a break in at the safe house. Rushing back to Carol's aide he
arrives and finds himself cornered by a cadre of Bat-Villains from Joker to Mr. Freeze all waiting for him.
