PLOT:
Bruce Wayne is broke, after the treasurer of his company absconds with the Wayne fortune. Bruce is forced to sell most of his assets and discontinue his activities as Batman. On their last case, Batman and Robin fail, letting Simon Gurlin escape.

Bruce and Dick are forced to take jobs. Dick uses his job to get information about Gurlin. The Caped Crusaders then track down the gang leader. Without money Batman is forced to work to pay for gas and parts for the Batmobile. Finally, Batman captures Gurlin and his gang. When Bruce and Dick return to Wayne Manor, Alfred informs them that the treasurer was caught, restoring Bruce's fortune.


TITLE: Polly Wants a Prize

PLOT:
Crooks steal an expensive parrot from a bird show. Air Wave's pet Static is also at the show. Air Wave chase down the crooks. With help from Static he succeeds. After the parrots return to the show, Static wins the competition by impressing the judges with his mixed up proverbs and speech.

TITLE: Adventure in the Park

CHARACTERS: Slam Bradley; Shorty Morgan

PLOT:
Through a telescope Slam witnesses a wealthy man being slugged by thugs in the park. By the time Slam arrives to help the man, he finds the man is unharmed. The thugs return to attack Slam when he finds a watch nearby. Slam is overcome and the crooks escape.

Slam traces the watch to Seymour Van Britt, the man he saw being attacked. Van Britt denies still denies that he was attacked, then Slam finds the same crooks in the man's house.

Slam is locked in the basement by the crooks while they set the house on fire. He manages to escape and finds the real Van Britt on the way out. The other man impersonating Van Britt is Monty Bland. Bland used the disguise to rob his cousin of similar appearance. Slam finds the crooks including Monty and this time apprehends them.

TITLE: Foxhole Chaplain

CHARACTERS: Boy Commandos; Andre Chavard; Brooklyn; Alfy Twidgett

PLOT:
The Boy Commandos join an infantry unit to battle the Japanese. Chaplain Richardson inspires the men to fight and shows courage by entering battle without a weapon. He helps the soldiers deal with their losses and overcome fear. During one battle Richardson is killed by a Japanese soldier while helping a wounded man. Richardson is mourned by the soldiers, who honor him at the funeral.
