PLOT:
One of the most prominent figures in the history of the Soviet Union was one Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin. As legend would have it, Rasputin's dabblings in the dark arts and black magicks gave him an almost unconquerable power over death. Feodor Kerimov - who aside from being a loyal socialist is also a firm believer in the occult - has been hunting down Rasputin's descendants and using them as sacrificial lambs in dark pagan rituals geared towards the resurrection of the ice goddess Tora Olafsdotter. He has apparently been keeping the former Justice Leaguer alive through the life support system built into the Rocket Red suit. So obviously his interest in retrieving the property stolen from him is two-fold. When he learns that his spies have lost track of the Six, he orders a team of Rocket Red soldiers be dispatched to take care of any loose ends.

Using her motorcycle, Scandal remains is in hot pursuit of the Birds' van as they try to escape back to America while the rest of the Six trail behind on foot. Luckily for the anti-heroes they won't have to spend too much time wandering through the frozen Russian forests as the newest member of their team - Harley Quinn arrives shortly with a new form of transport. Realizing that Scandal is still right behind them, Katarina overrides Barbara's orders to return to the Aerie One and instead sends the Birds to a safehouse in a Muslim farming village. In an attempt to get Scandal off their backs, Hawkgirl swoops in and forcibly removes Savage from her bike thus ensuing a knockdown drag out fight between the two hard-headed female warriors.

At the safe house the Birds are relieved to find that Tora's color is improving (perhaps in thanks to the blood sacrifice just made in her name by Kerimov). But the Birds may not be out of the woods yet as Helena notices a telling tattoo marked across the forehead of Spy Smasher's point man. The barbed wire design stretching across the top of the man's head is indicative of a life sentence in a Russian prison. Has Spy Smasher just lead them all into a giant trap? Katarina arrives at the safehouse to diffuse the situation but before things can get settled a booming voice beckons them from the outside. The Six have arrived and they have an unconscious Hawkgirl they intend on using as ransom unless the Birds of Prey give back Kerimov's stolen property!
