PLOT:
A brilliant scientist by the name of Dr. Nigel Glass suddenly finds his research into the fields of Melanic Masking and Plasma Bleaching cut off by superiors who fail to see the benefit in such studies. Downtrodden he heads to a local Gotham pub where he's cornered by two men who are secretly working for the Black Mask. The Masks are on the resurgence in Gotham and Roman Sionis has a diabolical plan in mind that he's keeping tightly under wraps. He offers the biochemist a great sum of money to continue his research if he will agree to drop completely off the map - disappear completely. Nigel agrees and immediately heads back to work on his formula (which he calls Translux).

With no other test subjects at hand he begins injecting himself with the chemical and watches in awe as one by one the layers of skin and flesh begin disappearing. But the formula has several adverse side effects. His body chemistry is thrown completely out of whack. His serotonin and dopamine levels go berserk. And he finds himself with an insatiable appetite. This mondo-case of the munchies causes the nearly invisible doc to head out to a local convenience store. Except the chemically altered "meat-man" has no plans on paying for the plethora of goodies he has in his hands. And when the store clerk reaches for his gun behind the counter a fight ensues and the clerk ends up eating lead while Nigel Glass takes off into the night.

One of Black Mask's enforcers named Gerald Moss is shadowing Glass and heads into the store shortly after Nigel takes off. The bumbling crook leaves his fingerprints behind on the rifle which gives Batman his first lead on the case. But Moss isn't known as being one of Black Mask's boys, he's an old associate of Boss Dayne. So when Batman comes knocking on Dayne's door the bald headed behemoth has no news to report. More and more Batman is finding the criminals in Gotham less afraid of him and more likely to provoke an attack. Dayne is no different.

Facing a dead end, Batman now finds himself searching blindly in the dark for leads on Gotham's new invisible man.
