SUMMARY:
After cremating the corpse of Ra's Al Ghul (Death and the Maidens), Batman assumed that he had seen the last of the Demon's Head.  However Ra's illegitimate son, White Ghost starts a chain of events leading to the Demon's Head's resurrection. When Ra's returns from the beyond he begins following his grandson, Damian (Batman & Son) challenging him and sizing him up as a potential vessel for his soul. Damian catches wind of this plot and shows up at Wayne Manor to alert Batman but winds up fighting with Tim instead.

Batman is already on the trail of Ra's with Damian's mother Talia and after meeting up with the rest of the Bat-Family, everyone goes to Nanda Parbat where Ra's seeks to complete his reincarnation. This ordeal also proves to be a great temptation for Tim as all of this talk of reincarnation causes him to look back on all the recent tragedies in his life. Tim struggles with the choice of whether or not to take a sample of the Lazarus Pit back to the Batcave to possibly reincarnate Conner (Superboy, who died in Infinite Crisis) or Stephanie (Spoiler, who died during War Games). He and Nightwing do battle before Tim decides to leave the Lazarus sample behind.

Bruce and Ra's do battle before both are ordered out of Nanda Parbat forever. Finally White Ghost, still searching for the approval from his father allows himself to become Ra's new life vessel, giving up his soul so that Ra's can live again. Shortly thereafter Ra's attempts to move his base of operations to Gotham City. Batman infiltrates Ra's penthouse and dispatches all of the ninjas guarding the two before easily defeating Ra's. Batman comes up with the false identity of "Terry Gene Kase", and plants it along with credible photos, medical records, and police records for both Blackgate Penitentiary and Arkham Asylum. Batman takes an unconscious Ra's directly to Arkham where it is believed he really is the schizophrenic prisoner "Terry Gene Kase" who has just been transferred to Arkham to finish out multiple life sentences. Along with attaching false information and a false identity to Ra's al Ghul's file, Batman attaches a false prescription of potent medication that ensures slurred speech and next to zero mobility. Has Ra's Al Ghul escaped death once again only to end up in a living hell?

"Welcome to Gotham City"
