Wonder Woman (Young Justice)

Diana was born on the paradise island of Themyscira, where the Greek goddess Hera sent her mother Hippolyta and the remaining Amazons to where they would be protected from the ravages of time and be able to rebuild their community after a bloody battle waged against them by Ares the god of war. Hippolyta created the form of a baby girl out of clay and raised it up to the sky. The gods answered by giving the clay form life and flesh, and she became Hippolyta's daughter Diana.

When American military pilot Steve Trevor crash-landed on the island it was decided that a contest to be held among the Amazons to determine who should be worthy of that task. Diana wanted to be the one who will escort Steve Trevor back to America, but Hippolyta forbade her from doing so, feeling it's her duty as a mother to protect her daughter from the dangers of the outside world.

Diana, through a disguise, won the contest and was granted the chance to fly Steve back to Mans Land. Once there, Diana became one of the world's greatest Superheroes, finally joining forces with others, Wonder Woman co-founded the Justice League.
