Web

Since the rise of the Internet in the late 1990s, it has become yet another of several media avenues for the Batman to court. This has taken shape primarily through webisodes - short episodes showcased on the World Wide Web. Although begun simply through an advertisement platform for the OnStar vehicle communications system, future Batman webisode series would be inspired by The New Batman Adventures and the successful Batman LEGO license in the 2000s. Likely the most popular would be Gotham Girls, a 30-episode interactive Flash cartoon which inspired a comic book series and eventual DVD release in 2008.
