Black Manta (Young Justice)

Black Manta is one of Aquaman's greatest villains. His lethal high-tech suit allows him to survive underwater and adapt to any number of situations with an arsenal of destructive weaponry. Despite his prominence, Manta remains an enigmatic figure, his identity and his origins kept secret. The motivation for his villainy is a deep-seated hatred for the sea due to strong emotional reasons, and a personal vendetta against Aquaman.

He and his men attempted to steal a large starfish creature frozen in ice from the Science Center in Atlantis. During the assualt, he encountered Aqualad and Garth. The three began to fight, and Manta became increasingly agitated that he was unable to defeat either of them. He resorted to destroying the creature with a small missile, saying "if I can't have it, no one can!" He is later revealed to be in league with The Light when he reports the failure of his mission, but he claims he has put a backup plan into effect.

The design for this version of Black Manta resembles a cross between the tradtional look and that of Devil Ray
from the Justice League Unlimited series.
