mine is the theme song of bb: ROTJ. it was cool gothic/techno/metal/rock all in one. and if i remember correctly, it had some orchestra in it too. so yeah...i thot that was the best. not that its a definitive batman theme song, but i just think its the coolest.

My favorites are the 60s theme, the 1989, and Molossus which is the name of the background score of the car chase scene in Batman Begins...and the song Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day reminds me of Batman a lot!

My favourite Batman theme is easily the BTAS/Mask of the Phantasm theme tune by Shirley Walker. Coming in second is a tie between Danny Elfman and James Newton Howard's themes. Elfman and Newton Howard's tunes are great, but they only really work in the films in which they were used, whereas, the Shirley Walker theme tune could be used in any Batman cartoon or movie.
As for Elliott Goldenthal, he was trying to make a theme tune based on the music kids make when they play with action figures :uhoh:
Ehhh....congratulations?
In the shadows I saw my destiny...
I would seek justice...
I would have my revenge... |

I like the B:TAS, it's the definitive Batman theme for me. I guess it was planted in my mind because I heard it so much while I was a youngster.

I'd have to go with BTAS for the "definitive" theme, though I liked the ROTJ theme as well. |

The original TB theme wasn't too bad, but I still haven't gotten used to the new theme yet. |

The classical ones like from Batman: TAS and the Burton films are fantastic. The newer Batman Begins soundtrack has some great music also.
I'd hope you guys aren't bad-mouthing The Batman's original theme by Edge, it's great. It takes a different approach than the classical ones yet works amazingly with that cartoon. The Season 3 theme is terrible though...

Yeah I own all their cd's and came to the same conclusion that you did. I found that qutie a few of their songs would be perfect for a what if soundtrack and for music videos.
