PLOT:
After rescuing a would-be cyber criminal from a band of yuppies turned canibals, Batman sees a familiar sight lighting up the sky - the Batsignal!
Tracing the symbol back to a building full of refugees (mostly mentally and/or physically handicapped children) Batman sees solid evidence of an urban legend that had been floating around Gotham
for months now - the King of Gotham. As it turns out, the King had rescued them all and taught them all how to survive and then one day completely vanished.
Finding that the King of Gotham was almost as secretive about his true identity as Batman himself, the Dark Knight turns to Penguin for information. From there Batman uses Oracle's resources to track down a den of water-traders. Finding them all dead Batman notices scales under one man's fingertips.
Killer Croc, more interested in remaining alpha-male than climbing up the power ladder, has the King stashed at the demolished Babylon Towers Mall. After dispatching Croc, Batman recognizes the King as Stanley Demchaszky. The King tells Batman how he turned over his new leaf and is promptly
returned to his people.
