PLOT:
While unconcious, Simon relives a strange hallucinatory flash-back from his childhood. Simon (who is much younger in his dream) is sitting at the dinner table in the burnt out church with his parents while random body parts hang from hooks and a blimp reading "Victor Whale's Bargain Body Parts" floats by in the background. His parents ask him to remove his mask and he obliges, revealing a face completely different from the one seen in the morgue earlier. Simon looks out at his family who have suddnely burst into flames and screams.

Simon comes to and finds himself staring face to face with Beth Granger the woman who was performing his autopsy not long ago. Simon runs out of the convenience store heading into the dark, screaming and begging not to "go back." He decides that he needs to atone for his sins of "stealing" the book from Rachel in order to make the pain go away. Simon races back to his church shelter where he retrieves the book and takes off for Rachel's. Vincent watches everything via his hidden eye.

Back at their apartment in the Village, Rachel and her father and settling down for the night. Rachel goes into the kitchen to find food but instead finds Eddie the Machete waiting for her. Simon, sneaking in to return the book finds Eddie and goes to cut Eddie's head off with a nearby hand saw. Rachel pleads for him not to. Instead Simon knocks Eddie unconcious and takes off with his body into the night. Rachel's father comes downstairs to find nothing but a mis-placed saw and a frightened but safe Rachel.

The Detective (Tom Kirk) is walking through Simon's burnt out church yard when he spies Vincent's hidden eyeball. He tells the eyeball that he has the situation under control. He tells Vincent to tell his bosses that Tom (nor his bosses) want Vincent interfering. Tom uses a rolled up newspaper to knock the eyeball out of the church yard like a pop-fly. Elsewhere in the city, Vincent screams in pain.

Beth is leaving the convenience store when she runs into Detective Kirk who invites her to a platonic dinner date. They discuss the case and the dead boy (Simon) who got up off the table and ran away as well as the links the boy may have had to the beheading. Tom gives Beth a lift back to her van at the station where he finds a gagged and bound Eddie the Machete waiting for him on his desk like a present. Nearby is a note from Simon which reads simply, "Please Don't Hurt Me. I Want To Help."
