PLOT:
Whether he's known as Tim Drake or Tim Wayne - one thing is for sure- he isn't Robin anymore. Now that Dick Grayson has feels that Tim has outgrown the need for a subordinate position such as Robin. He views Tim as an equal, not a protégé. Unfortunately this means that Tim must pass on his mantle to the brat that he's been at odds with since day one. Without Bruce there to guide him, Damian stands perched on a very precarious ledge and needs someone to guide him, Dick rationalizes. Naturally Damian takes it with every ounce of maturity expected of him.

Tim retreats back to his room at Wayne Manor enraged and begins trashing everything in sight. His hands bloodied and his room destroyed, he collapses against the wall in defeat. He's lost his second father, his title, he's lost everything it seems.

Or has he?

It's then that it suddenly dawns on Tim - Bruce Wayne is alive! And if Bruce were alive the very last thing he'd want is for his sons to stop looking for him. Taking a few days to get his affairs in order, Tim embarks on a global search for leads on Bruce's whereabouts. Never quite able to convince even himself that it all isn't merely an exercise in grief and denial, Tim nonetheless begins canvassing Spain first.

However it seems that no matter how far away one might go from Gotham, a costumed vigilante is always needed. Upon arriving in Madrid, Tim hears that the daughter of a Spanish politician has been kidnapped and held for ransom. He realizes that now that this mission could call for some otherwise brutal tactics so he opts for the Red Robin identity. This way nothing can be traced back to Bruce or Dick and following Jason Todd and Ulysses Armstrong's footsteps means that there's a very low level of expectation for the persona. It's most likely already tarnished anyway so anything Tim does under the guise has to be an improvement! Naturally he does what is called for and rescues the girl before continuing his search and moving onto Toledo. But it seems as though these distractions keep popping up and trying to take Tim away from his quest.

As Tim makes his way to Paris, he's unaware that a treat is growing on the horizon. In Prague, a hitman is finishing up a contract kill on some blackmailers when he is suddenly attacked by some kind of four-eyed monster. Gutted to the bone, he's tossed out of the window where he sat in wait for his target while the creature remains inside digesting his intestines. But while Tim may have a blood-thirsty monster to tangle with in the future, he also has a much more familiar foe keeping tabs on him. It seems that while Tim Wayne is continuing his search for proof of life, Ra's al Ghul and his trained assassins are keeping watch on his every move.
