PLOT:
A call-girl shows up to the high-rise apartment of Johnny Stitches, a new mobster in town whose face is comprised of different patches of skin crudely sewn together. The call-girl finds out that Johnny is very interested in her body - but  more specifically her ear. He pulls out a scalpel and slices the ear off while the girl screams in agony.

Bruce (as Matches) is struggling to survive while doctors at Blackgate attend to him. One of them notices that there is something a bit off about Matches' mustache. As the doctor reaches to peel the mustache off, Bruce springs forth from his self-induced trance state and knocks out the doctors. The guards arrive right on cue providing the distraction that Bruce needed to find out exactly what the Suicide Squad has hidden here in the infirmary. He pries open the doors and finds Great White Shark, badly beaten and barely alive lying in a hospital bed. Great Shark has a look of fear in his eyes - he assumes that whoever put him in traction to begin with has sent Bruce to finish the job!

Scarecrow rescues Scarface, Firefly, Lockdown and Killer Moth from the onslaught of Penguin's new "rogues." He leads them down an alley but it turns out to be a dead end where Tobias Whale's men are waiting for them. Whale's men easily defeat the group including Ventriloquist whom Tobias has sent away from his view before she is delivered her beating. Scarecrow has aligned himself with Whale but Whale wants nothing to do with the "mask." Hours later, Gordon finds Scarecrow beaten and left on display with a note attached to him that reads "This is what happens to MASKS in Gotham!"

Penguin's new "rogues" are celebrating their victory when the "Heatwave" removes his mask and reveals himself to be Freddie Dinardo (Dick Grayson's alter ego). Little does he know that Vigilante has returned to Gotham and is watching the entire situation unfold at the Iceberg Lounge. Vigilante (not recognizing Nightwing) has his sites set on Heatwave!

Back at Oracle's base, Robin and Wildcat prepare to find out who is under the Spoiler mask. Before they can uncover the intruder, Spoiler wakes up and throws a grenade that destroys Oracle's computers and provides enough cover for her to get away.

Back at Johnny Stitches' hotel room he is visited by Mannheim. It appears as though Johnny is being backed by Intergang who is setting Stitches up to be their secret weapon in Gotham.
