Thankfully, Dr. Thompkins was able to save the baby, but the mother died in the operation. Batman clears a wide enough opening so that the singer (who is actually the baby's grandmother and not her aunt) can escape. They instruct the singer to get the child to the hospital immediately. With Heyman apparently dead, Batman goes after Freeze and manages to stop him. Upon returning home he finds a very unhappy Leslie Thompkins waiting for him.
