PLOT: The Challengers land on Earth-8 where they are quickly captured by Lord Havok and the Extremists. Their location is discovered by a Monitor who goes there to kill the Challengers. Also arriving is Monarch who wants to kill the Monitor. The Jokester is killed by the Monitor and the rest escape. Monarch stays behind and makes an offer to Lord Havok to join his team. Jimmy Olsen has escaped from Cadmus Labs into the sewers where he is found by the Newsboy Legion. They have been looking for Jimmy since recognizing him as Mr. Action in the papers. Holly Robinson survives her swim to Paradise Island through shark-infested waters as does Harley Quinn. Trickster and Piper have stopped at a diner with the villain Double Down after escaping from the Green Arrow/Black Canary wedding. They are being secretly watched by people outside the diner who have plans to capture them. Mary Marvel has started using her powers under instruction from Eclipso. After flooding a village in Turkey she turns the farmers' cows into fish when they beg her to end the rain. Karate Kid has been diagnosed with the Omac virus by Brother Eye. When threatened by Karate Kid the Eye locks everyone is his chamber. NOTE: Two page end of issue story entitled, "The Origin of the Penguin"
