PLOT:
Gar Logan has the ability to transform himself into creatures of all shapes and sizes. But perhaps he has never felt smaller and lower in his entire life than now. He kneels down in the dirt, watching helplessly as his friends
drift off into a black daydream and the person he thought he loved more than anything else is preparing to reach in and tear out his beating heart!
But somehow, Gar finds a strength within himself. He realizes that he was in love with Tara, but the Tara he was truly in love with existed in his head. The real Tara (much like the Tara before him
now) could never live up to those lofty
expectations. And so the changeling harnesses that strength and uses it to transform himself once again. This time into a giant
Stegosaurus, sharp thorns adorn his thick skinned tail that he uses to swat at Terra sending the rotten menace flying!
Beneath the rubble of Titan's tower, his teammate Donna Troy has found a similar strength. Having changed into her costume, she bursts forth from the rubble, her dead husband in tow. "Listen
to me. It's not them. Do you hear me, everyone?!? These aren't the people we loved. These aren't the people we lost. They are nothing but empty shells." she announces as punches a hole clean through Terry's chest cavity!
"It's not them... it's not them..." she continues saying to herself, tears rolling down her cheeks as she
turns her attention to her son, crushing the young child's skull.
Just then, Dove arrives with the two Black Lantern Hawks following closely behind. Her sister Holly continues to provoke her, trying to stir up some kind of dormant emotion from within Dawn's soul but to no avail. Nevertheless, Hawk
strikes out at her sister, slashing at her chest, trying to dig out her heart and whatever emotion lay in it. But as she does so, the strange peaceful white light seeps out from Dawn's chest.
It wraps itself around the Black Lantern and de-activates her black ring. With the ring dead, Holly's body explodes into nothing but ash and vapor.
The other Black Lanterns, sensing the real threat lay in Dove, turn their attentions to her. But as they close in she unleashes another blast of white energy that vaporizes several of the undead menaces! Having
expelled such a giant wave of energy, an exhausted
Holly collapses to the ground. There she has a vision of her predecessor Don Hall. Standing at his graveside, Don Hall asks Dawn not to give up on his brother as he never did while he was alive.
She wakes up to find that the remaining Black Lanterns have all flown off. But Bart says that he just received word from Barry Allen that the dead are rising all over the planet.
Yet as they stand to re-enter the battle, their new weapon in Dove by their side, Donna Troy knows that she has death creeping within her now. The blackness courses through her veins.
And that means that when push comes to shove, the next person they use Dove's white energy on could be her!
