PLOT:
What started as just another ordinary day has now devolved into an all out Kryptonian brawl across the skies of Smallville. Citizens of the sleepy little town are drawn out into the streets to watch in awe as the Super-Men knock each other
senseless high above them. They remain unaware that yet another Black Lantern lies in wait, stalking them like prey. The Black Lantern Psycho Pirate begins stoking their emotions, riling them up into fits of rage, lust and avarice, preparing their hearts for their eventual harvest. Good friends begin to turn on
one another while others hide in fear. Complete strangers passionately kiss one another in the middle of the street while all of Smallville falls into utter chaos
around them.
But what happens when the Psycho Pirate decides to play with the emotions of Superboy himself? As Conner swoops down to save Ma Kent from the clutches of the creature formerly known as Earth-2's Lois Lane he
inadvertently places himself in the cross-hairs of the emapth villain. Combing
through Conner's deepest emotions, the Pirate decides to create a deep seeded
sense of rage and contempt for Clark within Conner. Suddenly Superman finds himself battling to not only save his city and his father's memory but now must also keep Conner from pummeling him
to death! All the while, Black Lanterns Superman and Psycho Pirate look on, their
putrefied faces twisting into evil grins as their plans continue to unfold perfectly. Soon the hearts and emotions of Superman
and the entire city he holds so dear will feed into the
Black Lantern battery.
Back on the ground, Martha Kent continues to flee from Lois Lane in a nearby
corn field. Hiding amongst the tall stalks of corn she builds herself a makeshift torch which she lights with a book of matches. She decides then and there
that she's done running. It takes a lot more than a couple of creepy looking monsters to scare a Kansas Farmer's wife (not to mention the woman that raised the Man of Steel). Holding her blazing torch before her she patiently waits for
Lois Lane to stumble upon her, waiting for the moment to turn the tables on her ghastly
pursuer.
Meanwhile far away on Kandor, Supergirl is frozen in a mix of horror and shock while her father's re-animated corpse continues to make short work of her fellow New Kryptonians. Leaving behind a pile of bloody and beaten
citizens in his wake, he spews vile rhetoric aimed at his own daughter. He
plays with her feelings of guilt over his death, making her heart ripe for the taking. But the more the rotten being speaks the more Supergirl realizes that the person before her is not her father. Her father would never speak to her that way. He would never say such
hurtful and evil things.
And with that in mind, as tears continue to stream down her face, she balls her hands up into fists and prepares to fight back. But how can she stop something that not even her super-strength can destroy?
