PLOT:
Four criminals are apprehended and sent to prison following a bank robbery. The money is never found. The crooks begin serving life sentences and make several escape attempts. Each attempt is thwarted, so they kill one of their own men. The other three are then sentence to death for the murder.

The crooks bribe the electrician and prison doctor to fake their deaths in the electric chair. The prison docotor then smuggles one of the crooks out of prison. He recovers the stolen money, then finds Batman waiting for him. The doctor and Batman were working together to get the crooks to reveal the location of the stolen money. The crook is returned to jail where his death sentence is presumedly carried out.

PLOT:
Bruce Wayne meets magazine photographer Vicki Vale at his yacht club. A diminutive crook calling himself the Mad Hatter breaks into the club and robs the place. Batman tries to stop him. The Hatter escapes, while Batman is cut on the chin.

Later Vicki Vale notices that Bruce Wayne has a cut in the same place as Batman. She compares photos and comes to the conclusion that Batman is Bruce Wayne.

While Batman is hunting for the Mad Hatter, Vicki plants luminous powder inside Batman's glove. After the crook is captured, Vicki sees Bruce with glowing hands. She thinks she has proof of Batman's secret, but Batman had discovered the powder. He then used a luminous plant to fool Vicki, showing her that both his hands were glowing. Vicki suspects a trick and vows to follow-up on her suspicions.

PLOT:
Bruce Wayne finds an arabian rug at auction with a picture resembling the Joker on it. He joins Dick Grayson on a trip into the past with Professor Nichols's help to discover the story behind the rug. Bruce and Dick arrive in Bagdad which is being terrorized by a criminal called the Crier. The villain resembles the Joker, only he cries instead of laughs. Batman and Robin apprehend the criminal and prevent a mass panic when the Crier makes the residents believe a volcano is erupting. Finally, Batman discovers that a rug in the Crier's possession has his picture on it. This rug is the one Bruce found at the auction.
