Join Young Justice and watch them battle villains and fight crime in a 2-disc 10 episode collection!

For the Young Justice squad being a teenager means proving yourself over and over — to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? That’s exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis — will find out … whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero.

The latest season of the critically acclaimed series jumps ahead in time 5 years to re-introduce the original squad as well as all new members Nightwing, Wondergirl, Blue Beetle, Batgirl, and Beast Boy as they fight off a secret alien invasion affecting the entire planet.

Season Two, which is subtitled “Invasion” starts where Season One ended. With both teams on the Watch tower discussing the events that have unfolded. Then we move forward in time by 5 years. Robin has become Nightwing, and there is a new Robin in town. Batgirl, Wondergirl, Blue Beetle and more have joined the team while Kid Flash and Artemis have retired. We learned that Aqualad is now a traitor and working for his father, Black Manta. We also learn that the Light is working with an alien race and that they have been invading Earth for years.

Put all this together and you have a making for a great show! And that’s what we have. It amazes me how DC and Warner Brothers can produce these awesome animated shows, however when it comes to Live Action, they are far behind.

The DVD consists of ten episodes:

The release also contains the Batman: Brave and the Bold episodes "Rise of the Blue Beetle", "Fall of the Blue Beetle" and "Revenge of the Reach" which ties into Young Justice really well.

Overall this is a must for any DC fan. While it is aimed at a younger audience, Young Justice is a joy for fans of all ages and will go down as one of the best superhero series.

Revealed early to both USA Today & Entertainment Earth, Mattel's latest offering into the 6 Inch world of Batman figures comes straight from the 60's in the form of Adam West as Batman! Frank Gorshin as The Riddler! And Burgess Meredith as The Penguin! The figures will retail for around $15.99 each.

 
And watch for the Batmobile! This one won't cost ya $4,620,000.00 though. It will retail for around $40.00.

All of these are due in stores beginning in July.

World Premiere of LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite, an all-new film from TT Animation based on its popular video game. The film will have its World Premiere in New York on February 11, 2013, with filmmakers and members of the voice cast in attendance for red carpet media interviews and a post-screening panel discussion.

Media interviews will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the screening will commence at 6:30 p.m. Following the screening, cast and filmmakers will discuss the movie – led by TT Animation’s award-winning director/producer Jon Burton, and renowned videogame/animation actors Troy Baker (Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham City) as Batman and Travis Willingham (Avengers Assemble, The Super Hero Squad Show) as Superman. Additional panelists will be announced as confirmed.

LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite provides the ultimate blend of action and humor guaranteed to entertain fanboys of all ages. The film finds Lex Luthor taking jealousy to new heights when fellow billionaire Bruce Wayne wins the Man of the Year Award. To top Wayne’s accomplishment, Lex begins a campaign for President – and to create the atmosphere for his type of fear-based politics, he recruits the Joker to perfect a Black LEGO Destructor Ray. While wreaking havoc on Gotham, Lex successfully destroys Batman's technology – forcing the Caped Crusader to reluctantly turn to Superman for help.

LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite features the definitive voice of Lex Luthor, Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption, SpongeBob? SquarePants). In addition to Baker and Willingham, the cast includes Christopher Smith (Mortal Combat vs. DC Universe) as the Joker, and Charlie Schlatter (Diagnosis Murder) in a hilarious turn as the voice of Robin.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set May 21, 2013 as its release date for LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite on Blu-ray and DVD.

A limited number of free tickets are available to the general public. Fans wishing to receive free tickets to the New York event on February 11 must RSVP via email to LegoBatmanTheMovie@gmail.com.

The Paley Center in New York City is located at 25 West 52nd Street. There is no attached parking, however there is ample parking in numerous structures surrounding the Paley Center.

Another round of justice has been served. Watch them battle villains and fight crime in a 2-disc 14 episode collection!

Back for another round, Robin, Superboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Artemis join forces to take down some of the universe’s most dangerous foes. From India to Cadmus Labs, these super-powered sidekicks must think fast and use teamwork in their never-ending fight against The Light. Join the team as they battle the likes of the ruthless assassin Cheshire, the Lord of Chaos Klarion, the brutally powerful Sportsmaster and the deceptive Parasite. In battles that test their loyalties and reveal hidden secrets, Young Justice must use their incredible crime-fighting powers to come together and defeat their toughest enemies yet!
I think it’s a good thing that Warner Brothers decided to release the final 14 episodes of Young Justice season 1 together onto one disc. While it’s understandable to release a single disc with a few episodes, it can be very frustrating to the fans that would prefer to have a Box set of the entire season.

With that said, the show has awesome storytelling in a great mash-up of original source material (Teen Titans/Young Justice with some other various DCU stories thrown in). The voice acting is superb with some veterans and newcomers doing a nice job of establishing the characters we've known and loved. In my opinion it is one DC's best animated shows of all time; it certainly looks better and sharper than a lot of their original animated flicks. The show isn't too violent that a young child couldn’t enjoy it, and it’s not to “kiddie" where an adult would not be able to get into it. It is a convoluted plotline that keeps you intrigued and the interaction between the teens makes you kind of reminisce about the phases as teens.

Disc 1 contains the episodes “Alpha Male”, “Revelation”, “Humanity”, “Failsafe”, “Disordered”, “Secrets”, and “Misplaced”, while Disc 2 contains “Coldhearted”, “Image”, “Agendas”, “Insecurity”, “Performance”, “Usual Suspects”, and “Auld Acquaintence”.
“Alpha Male” finds the team in disarray after Aqualad’s secret is revealed, resulting in the others questioning his leadership. But that’ll have to wait when Batman sends the kids after killer animals in India, with Captain Marvel tagging along as the “grown up” supervisor. It leads into … “Revelation”, a nice halfway point for the show’s previous episodes, with the oh-so-D.C. Injustice League making their move. Consisting of Batman’s nemesis The Joker (voiced by “Star Trek: The Next Generation’s” Brent Spiner, who leaves you wishing Mark Hamill was back) and Poison Ivy, Black Adam, and a half dozen others, the supervillains demand a ransom from the world Governments or suffer the wrath of giant, well, plant-like monstrosities stomping through their cities. While the kids are dealing with the Injustice League, the actual Justice League, along with seemingly every superhero in the D.C. universe, show up to do battle with, well, giant plants in their respective cities.

Other highlights on Disc 1 include the alien invasion episode “Fail Safe”, the Superboy-centric “Disordered” (which features the New Gods), and the Halloween-themed “Secrets”. Disc 2 highlights include “Agendas”, which finds Superboy back at Project Cadmus (and going up against a certain bald guy in a suit), Sportsmaster returns in “Insecurity”, and “Performance”, which has the team going under cover at a circus as … The Daring Dangers! Of course, it all leads into the season 1 finale, “Auld Acquaintance”, which wraps up the entire Season 1 “secret society” storyline and has the team going in search of their old buddy Red Arrow while trying to survive the combined might of a compromised Justice League.

There are only three things that could make this a better release. 1) The Complete Season. 2) Features. 3) Blu-Ray?. However, since those are not an option right now, we must settle for what we get. Overall though, I would highly recommend this set to anyone who enjoys the show.

 

Coming in 2013, the revamped DC universe Classics line will get a new name. DC Unlimited. With it, comes Batman Unlimited, a revamped Batman Legacies line.
