Gotham City is terrorized not only by recent escapees Joker and Penguin, but by the original creature of the night, Dracula! Can Batman stop the ruthless vampire before he turns everyone in the city, including the aforementioned super villains into his mindless minions?

SPOILERS AHEAD!!! ::thedracula::

HIGHLIGHT TO READ

After a moody opening credits sequence filmed against stormclouds, the film opens at Arkham Asylum, where the inmates are playing bingo. One inmate offers to split his hidden loot with Penguin if he can get them out of there. The loot is stashed in the cemetrary. Penguin asks if the same offer has been made to anyone else. The foolish inmate reveals that he also made the offer to the Joker. Just then they learn that the Joker's escaped. Penguin overpowers a guard and escapes too.

On the way to the cemetary, Penguin and Joker confront each other. Joker agrees to split the take, but when they shake, he zaps Penguin with a joy buzzer. Batman shows up and battles with the Joker, while Penguin makes it to the cemetary. Penguin opens the door to the crypt the money's supposedly stashed in. Descending the stairs, he sees a large coffin wrapped in restricting chains. Penguin uses his umbrella blade to slash open the chains, but accidentally cuts his hand, and blobby drops of blood leak forth. Penguin opens the coffin only to find a chained skeleton. A drop of blood falls from his hand onto the skeleton's shriveled heart, which suddenly begins expanding while its bones generate flesh. The still-skeletal monster rises up and Penguin runs screaming from the tomb.

We cut back to Batman and the Joker, battling atop a bridge. Joker's joybuzzer is short-circuiting in the rain. He falls off the bridge and hits the water. His silouetted body arcs, writhes and spasms in the throes of genuine electrocution. Then the body sinks into the depths. Batman stands silent over the bridge.

Back at the cemetary: a night watchman is pounced upon by the awakened vampire. Though Dracula's back is toward us, and the scene is obscured, it's quite obvious that Dracula is sucking the man's blood, and when he pulls away, we see two fang-marks on the watchman's neck. Penguin watches in horror, and becomes even more horrified when the watchman rises up looking pale and slightly skeletal, with red eyes. "Dead guys don't do that" says Penguin. "Not dead," hisses Dracula. "Undead." Dracula hypnotizes Penguin into becoming his sentinel to watch over his grave during daylight.

Back at the batcave, we see Batman standing over an abyss, looking miserable. Alfred notes that his master is brooding. batman tells him that the Joker has met his demise.

At the cemetary, Dracula at first thinks he is still in Transylvania. We're treated to a flashback of stills of angry mobs, a man about to drive in a stake, and Dracula's chained coffin being loaded onto a galleon and being shipped over the ocean. Penguin tells the vampire that he's actually in Gotham. "The night is young, and still I first," says Dracula, as he sets out toward the city.

This sounds awesome. I really like the new box art, I had a strong feeling they would change from the one they had before.

Yeah, I remember that. Batwoman was in front on the right, and Batman's face was in the background on the left, kind of wierd.

i hated that one, and i hated the old box art ::thepenguin::

i like these knew smilies, there so cool ::freeze::

my fav is the riddler :confused???:: and dracula!! ::thedracula:: cant wait for this movie, my only problem is that penguin and joker are in it. they're overused! waaay too much. they're matsuda's fav characters so thats probably why. they need to use catwoman and riddler. those are the 'big' batman villains that i like.

It'd be nice if they didn't use Pengy-chan and Jokey-chan so much, but Jeff likes them so its no big deal. But when you think about it, the Joker and Penguin are pretty easy to use as bystanders. They don't ALWAYS have to be the main badguy, they just be put to the side without much worry.

Catwoman probably could have been a good one to use as well, especially we haven't gotten much of her and she's so major! (Maybe she could be robbing a grave for a kitty thingy when all this starts, or she gets targeted and has to help Bats)

Anywho, this DTV looks like a good start for The Batman. I like that they're going for a more mature feel than they do in the show.

And yes these smilies are fun! ::ivy::::batgirl:: ::thebatman2::

It says NR on the info, or are you talking about a different version being rated that? Well anyway, I'm looking foward to this too. I think it's cool that The Joker and Penguin are in this as supporting villians, it reminds me of MOTP.
