Joss Whedon has posted a little update on the Wonder Woman movie on the Whedonesque message boards:
"And since I haven't posted (anything real) in some time let me bring y'all up to speed. The Brothers Warner HAVE read Wondy Gal, and are arranging a meeting to tell me that it is a perfect crystalline gem and I must not change a word, nay, not a syllable. I'm certain that's how it will go."

...Is he being sarcastic? I guess all we really got out of that is that WB has, in fact, read the script and that a meeting will soon ensue. Either way, thanks, Nate.

I'm sure he is. Don't forget, this is the same man who told fans everywhere to "bootleg the puppy" when one of the season finales of Buffy was pulled from airing because it was deemed too controversal - he doesn't seem to take anything too seriously.

A question that's been bugging me for some time now is, are we going to be really seeing a Wonder Woman movie by Summer 2007, cause we haven't really heard anything about it, no casting news, nore any pictures of WW's costume(I remember reading somewhere that Weldon wanted to change the costume up so that it had a more Greek influance instead of American, but still make it look like WW's costume). I mean lets think about this for a sec:
- Back around October 2003, Christen Bale was announce to be playing Bruce Wanye/Batman in Batman: Intimidation, which soon got changed to Batman Begins. Casting for other characters were released in 2004, with pictures of Bale in Batsuit(Teaster pics) out close to late 2004 or early 2005. The movie came out in June 2005.
- For Superman Returns, Brandan Routh was announced as Clark Kent/Superman just around or before Summer 2005 began. Then around July 2005, we saw the 1st photos of what the costume look like just as the reminding cast was being pretty completed and filming was beginning to start. The movie came out in June 2006.
- Spider-man 3 is currently in production, with all casting already done as well as probaby a good amount of the filming done, with special effects being work on, as it set it's pace to be release in May 2007.
- Transformers: The Movie is also currently in production, as they've already film some scences while 3D Computer Animators are working on the Transformers themselves. Expected to be out in July, 2007.
- Fanstastic Four 2: Rise Of The Silver Surfer has pretty much gotten it's casting done, and is expected to start filming in a short while, with it's relase in the middle of June 2007.
- The Dark Night(The sequal to Batman Begins) has already stated who the Joker in that movie will be, eventhough it's not suppose to be out by 2008.
- It's been reported that for the sequal of Superman Returns, that I think Jude Law will be playing General Zod when Zod makes his return(Apparenty, Zod survives from his fate in Superman II). This Superman movie is expected to be out in 2009.
Considering that the WB wanted this movie out in the Summer 2007(I would assume sometime in June 2007), and how there doesn't seem to be that much progress reported(Whither it's the script or the lack of casting, espeically for Dinia/WW) when compared to the other big 2007 comic book/cartoon/toy properities based movies, does anyone think the WB will push back it's date WW date for 2008, relase it later in 2007(Like fall or around Christmas time), or do a very rush job so that they can release it in Summer 2007(Which can also mean a very crappy movie, but not necessary)?

I doubt 2007 is the date. My guess is 2008. So a year of a Batman movie (or two fo them if thats still the plan) and a Wonder Woman movie. Two DC movies in one year. Who wouldn't want that?
I believe thats whats gonna happen.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.
