Didn't notice that Catwoman in fur thing...will have to check again. Just one thing, I'm fairly new to buying comics (I got one or two, but never in order) so am slightly confused with the whole OMAC project and how Batman has potentially caused the end of life fo 'meta-humans'.
Please help.....and don't try to get technical with me, I'm strting to get into this series.
This is Gotham city.
It boasts the highest percentage of sociopathic criminals in any metropolitan conurbation.
It also has ME!! |

Don't feel bad, I haven't seen a single IC in any of the comic stores around here. I'm just going to wait for the TPB at this point...
I'm doing the same. I have an idea of what is going on but I'd rather wait.
Besides, I'm busy catching up on all the stuff leading up to it. I still need to read the Omac project and the Rann Thanagar war, (even though how it affects crisis)
I'm also catching up on a bunch of other stories, including several that aren't involved with DC at all. Luckily this winter means times off, which means time to catchh up on everything.
Speaking of the TPB, when's that coming?

Here is the extremely basic version of the story:
-Batman had ten minutes of his memory erased by some of his fellow Justice League members years ago. (Why they did it is a very long story, although a good one.)
-Batman's memories eventually resurfaced. Because of this violation, he realized he could not trust all of these superpowered beings, even the ones who were supposedly his friends. He constructed the Brother Eye satellite to keep check on all metahumans, so he could take the necessary action should anything else of this nature happen.
-At some point, a shady government organization called Checkmate gained knowledge of the Brother eye satellite. This organization's leader, Maxwell Lord, wrested control of it and helped construct the OMACs. This eventually led to where we are today.
If you pick up the OMAC Project trade paperback, it explains it all much better. It includes background info on all the characters and such, and it's a damn good story.

They'll almost certainly release a hardecover collection first, followed 6 months or so later with a trade paperback release. We should see a hardcover by next fall, and most likely the trade in the srping of '07. that's just my conjecture, but it fits with their reprint history with such pretigious series. Look to the Identity Crisis series as an example of this.
Great, great, great issue! My suspicions about Alexander Luthor are confirmed, we finally find out exactly what the deal is with the two Lex Luthors, Batman encounters the original Superman, we finally get to see who destroyed the Watchtower... almost too much going on to take in! Batman nearly having a breakdown because of what he started by constructing the Borther Eye satellite was a high point of the issue, but the greatest moment of the issue for me-- the one that made my jaw drop-- is when Power Girl sees what Luthor and Superboy have constructed: one of the Monitor's Spires from the Crisis on Infinite Earths, powered by the heroes the Society has been capturing, and the body of the ANTI-MONITOR!!!!! :bigeek: :bigeek: :bigeek:
I'll tell you right now, the Anti-Monitor ain't dead. Energy cannot be destroyed, and that's basically all the Anti-Monitor was. We'll see him return before this story is over. Alex Luthor and Earth Prime Superboy can scheme all they want, but when they decided to use the remains of the Anti-Monitor's body, they made a big mistake. We ain't seen the last of him, mark my words. The Anti-Monitor is the most powerful supervillain who ever existed, and I was never satisfied that he was really gone at the COIE's conclusion. Seeing his body in this issue is practically a promise that he'll resurface. I can't wait. :bigrazz:

With regards to the basic version of the storyline, I thank you...without it I would have been lost. Will be getting the OMAC Project in the next few weeks.:p

I know we've heard that. But really.. are they going to kill Wally? Or, lets look at it this way.. are they even talking about the current Flash or Superboy? I mean, I'm not reading this.. but I really hope they don't kill Flash, or Superboy. And of course Nightwing will live.. he's to big a character to die.
