Hal Jordan because he's the classic Green Lantern but JLU's John Stuart is a close second.
Marge: Homer, I've got someone here who can help!
Homer: Batman?
Marge: No, a scientist!
Homer: Batman's a scientist.
Marge: It's not BATMAN!! |

Wouldn't the classic Green Lantern be Alan Scott since he has been around since the 40's? His modern age stuff has been pretty good. There was a cool team up with him and Batman, and Alan Scott is the original defender of Gotham City.
The GL whose stories I have enjoyed the most is Kyle Rayner. He has had a lot of rough things happen to him. He was GL for like 2 or 3 issues and came home to find that Major Disaster had chopped up his girlfriend and stuffed her in his fridge.
Hal Jordan is really cool, but sometimes a little too perfect. I think that it bothers me that so many of the other GLs are in such awe of him. His best stories are Emerald Dawn I and II. In the first one he is a pilot that gets grounded for being drunk. Makes for a good story, especially the story about the sign (street sign not a metaphorical revelation).
Guy Gardner, if done right, can be really funny, but sometimes too much of him gets annoying. His JLI stuff and the second Super Buddies arc that ran through Justice League Classified are great.
I just can't get into Jon Stewart. He is done pretty well on the cartoon, but in the comics he is just boring. They never seem to give him any personality.

My favorite is Alan Scott. As far as the GL Corps goes, my favorite is Kyle Rayner. I got nothing against Jordan, but I've always enjoyed Kyle's stories more than Hal's. Even Johns hasen't been wowing me with the current GL series.

I really like Hal Jordan and if ever a JLA/U/I film was made, I'd want Hal Jordan or John Stewart in it. Kyle Rayner doesn't really amuse me, though. Too much like Wally West in terms of personality. The only difference is that Kyle is a little bit more creative.

yeah i agree with gothamite, i think kyle rayner is a bit too much like flash so id take either jon stewart or hal jordan. Hal jordan is said to be the only person who matches the will of batman so i guess you cant say hes too perfect.

I was about to make a similar topic to this. Good thing there already is one. I wanted to ask which Green Lantern do you like? From both comics and the animated incarnations. Hal Jordan, Kyle Ratner, or John Stewart? Not Guy Gardener or Alan Scott included.
I'm asking this because from the JLU series, John Stewart isn't my favorite. And Hal is the main one who has been since the '50s and has been in so many stories. Most memorable being him and Green Arrow in the '70s. Plus theres Kyle whose young age can work for younger readers. But overall, who is the one that you like?
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.

I don't really know much about the Green Lanterns, but my favorite from all of them would probably be Hal Jordan. |
