Looks like Mattel is fianlly getting on the toddler bag wagon. Much like Spidey and Friends, DC will soon have toddler toys for those 5 and under:
To protect the already-established core action figure line, master licensee Mattel (for both) is on board to create a younger, unique but complementary basic and deluxe action figure line for Super Friends, as well as vehicles and other accessories. "From a toy perspective, we felt comfortable the toys would all reside in the same house [Mattel]," says McTier.
The Super Friends program with a broad target of ages 0 to 5 (with the bulk of the target in the 2 to 5 age range) will launch first with toys in fall 2007, according to McTier. As a global partner, Mattel will launch the toy line on a global basis. Together, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel will work on the creative for the brand for both advertising and merchandising opportunities.

It's about time! I have a few small cousins that I would have loved to give these to, with one on the way, looks like I'll be able to!

Not surprising really and a smart move by Mattel. A few months back, ToyFare had a parody article featuring custom figures of what DC shouldn't make, like The Joker with a bloody crowbar. Of course, they were customized from Marvel figures and all had cheerful, childlike expressions. Pretty funny stuff.
The article Beyond linked to has images as well. Batman looks pretty cool; he seems to have an '80s styled costume and The Batman inspired face. I'll probably feel funny doing so, but I may end up getting some of these.

The Aquaman, Batman (Deluxe), and Batcycle catalog photos show up at the bottom of the pages with the Close Box link rather than in their respective Additional Images links. And the orange frames are too thin for the Vehicle catalog photos... But at least everything is present.

Not sure how that would make any difference, especially with incorrectly linked banner images, but okay, Boss.

If these end up being Rescue Heroes size and scale then Mattel could rework some of the other existing Rescue Heroes playsets and vehicles into the DCU. I never got my kid more than a few basic figures, but I know they had some cool things that could be easily retooled.

We've been over this before.. if the width is not set right, it will do that. It looks fine in IE
