Superman Returns figures are out, but so far Wal-Mart seems to have them most. I?m not real sure Targets down here have them yet. Of the Superman figures the Clark Kent / Superman one seems to be the hardest to find. I got one and one other one. Unlike Batman they don?t seem to be going crazy with Superman stuff just yet.

The other week, I found that Wal Mart had Corgi 1/43rd scale vehicles for $6.44, so I finally picked up the '50s and '90s Batmobile. I don't think that'll be the last of it though...

I made some nice buys today. According to ToyFare Magazine, both Steel and Supergirl single pack JLU figures are only one per case and hard to find, but my Target had three Supergirls and a Steel, so I got one of each.

They also had a 10" scale The Batman Joker marked way down to an amazing $2.48! Only a fool would turn that down.

Lastly, I couldn't help but pick up both figures from the Superman Returns S3 Select Sculpt Series at $12.99 each. They feature great detail and will make supreme displays. Look forward to reading my feature-length reviewing debut for both of them.

Compared to Toys R Us, I don't see how K Mart can last like they are. Mine still has plenty of Batman Begins figures for about $7.99. Items have sat for over a year but are marked down very little, and it even has toys from as far back as 2001! They were the only place I found besides Target that have basic Superman Returns figures, and the only to have Clark-to-Superman, but they're more expensive, so I'll wait it out...

My brother found a Temblor, Bizarro, and Doomsday figure for me last night. Apparently both Bizarros and Doomsday had crappy paint jobs, but they're fixable. DC SuperHeroes figures jumped up in price at Wal Mart from $8.88 to about $9.98. Considering the messy paint jobs and lack of accessories, that sucks. I'll probably try and do a review for one of those DCSH villains.

Last Sunday was a great flea market. Two dealers outside had comic books for 50 cents each! I ended up buying about 38-40 issues. They're mostly late '80s and '90s titles like Detective, Batman, Shadow of the Bat, Superman, Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II, Batman/Punisher (one-shot), etc. This helped complete some series' like "The Penguin Affair," "Year Three," and "The Mud Pack."

I also got some 50 cent figures for customizing fodder and the lead singer of the California Raisins. Almost got a complete set now. Smile

I found the Lex Luthor figure in stores, but I might wait and see if that 3-pack arrives in the US or is available on eBay for a reasonable price. I have too many figures to open anyway.

Congrats on the finds! Our flea market has had plenty of JLI and Suicide Squad, but no Batman for quite a while.

Wow. Been about half a year since I posted...

Last Tuesday, I realized the great post-Christmas discounts. if anyone's thinking of buying up some cheap figures, now's the time to do it.

Wal Mart had Superman Returns figures for $5, and luckily, I waited to check out Target, which had them for $3.48. To my sheer amazement, they also had several "Menace to Metropolis" 3-figure box sets in the clearance aisle for $9.98. I'd never ever seen it in stores and assumed it was exclusive to Australia where it was first seen according to Action-Figure.com. That set has any SR figures I could want, and Luthor has some snow sprayed on while the single has none, so I scooped it right up.

They also had two Target Exclusive DC SuperHeroes Batman/Batgirl 2-packs, which is a must-buy. I then bought one JLU Justice Lords 3-pack featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, and the JLU 10" Atom (which completes my collection of JL 10" figures). It all costed about $45, which on my budget, is quite a bit for me to buy at once.

The Batman 3-figure box sets were also there, featuring Poison Ivy and the Ventriloquist. Again, I'd never seen them before and they were marked $9.98. Luckily, I still haven't opened Clayface or Mr. Freeze, so I'll take them back and get those new sets! My Freeze is on the original, older card style, but hopefully that won't matter. The single also includes that strange ice staff while the box set version doesn't, but what good is that thing anyway?

Thanks for the info Caleson...
I missed out on the Ventriloquist the first time
around...could not get myself to buy a set of
action figures that I already had because of one
new one...I might break down this time...
Or...hope to find this puppy at the Thrift someday...B)

First, I gotta give thanks to Beyond for the 411. He told me about the $2 single-pack JLU figures currently available at dollar stores today, so on my way to work tonight, I stopped by the local Dollar General. I looked all over the store and was just about to leave empty-handed when I saw Atom Smasher hanging on a tightly cramped little display packed with generic wrestling figures and the lot. They had only one of Smasher, Hawk, and Dove, which I bought. You can't beat three for the price of one. Smile I admit that I barely know anything about those three characters, but I also admit that my JLU collection display should start looking pretty friggin' cool once a get a few more figures. big grin

Precisely! I came back yesterday and they were marked down from $9.98 to $4.98. They had about four of both sets, so I got one of each for Beyond and myself. I also took back my extra carded EXP Riddler and Clayface figures before buying them, and before that, I returned my Lex Luthor to Wal Mart since I got the Menace to Metropolis set the night after (which is also marked down to $4.98 now).

Speaking of which, Target has the new Man of Steel figures here, but at $7 each, I'm not in a hurry to buy Metallo. And they didn't have any Monguls...

I checked another Dollar General for $2 JLU figures but found no luck. They did, however, still have a large stack of Javelin 7s from the old JL Mission Masters line at $10 each. They've been there for over a year, so I broke down and got one. Not sure where it'll even fit it in my collection yet.
