I'm surprised there's no thread on this yet, what with all the wrestling fans on this board. I'm watching this at my sister's house Sunday; she always has a big party for WM and Summerslam. What matches are you all looking forward to the most? What are your predictions?
I'm really looking forward to the Michaels vs. Cena match. I've never been a Cena fan, although I don't have any particular dislike for him. I think Michaels might actually be allowed to take the belt Sunday, although I don't expect he'll keep it for long. Michaels has never had the big title, and with his advancing age, this may be his last shot at it. I think they might let him have it.
The Undertaker vs. Batista match should be good. This is bound to be one of 'Taker's last Wrestlemanias, so I seriously doubt they'll have him lose and ruin his undefeated WM streak. Still, they might do it just to shake things up, and Batista is one of the few guys who could be a credible victor over him.
The Battle of the Billionaires looks to be a no-brainer. I don't think anybody is doubting that McMahon will get his head shaved. It's painfully obvious that Lashley is gonna win after the way they tore him down on Raw Monday. Vince may cheat and somehow avoid getting the big shave even when Umaga loses, but I doubt it.
I am disappointed that we don't have Kurt Angle to look forward to this year. Even during the years when I was almost completely uninterested in what WWE was doing, I still like Angle. He's a great heel, and he's probably the best in the business. Sucks that HHH is out with his injury, too. Anyway, it looks to be a pretty good show, and I'm looking forward to it.

Well, heck, the last time anyone talked in the wrestling thread was probably half a year ago! I've considered rejuvinating it but obviously never did.
As for WrestleMania predictions, I think I'm pretty good at this. Last year, I was almost perfect; although, some I didn't bother to attempt, like Money in the Bank.
Jeff Hardy/Mr. Kennedy/Edge wins the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This is never easy to predict, but I'm thinking one of those three (organized by whom I find mostly likely) will win. Edge has a chance, with his WM win record, but it would sure be annoying. Kennedy is pathetic in the ring but seems to be getting quite a push for his big mouth. Punk and Hardy are lighter performers suitable for a ladder match and are gaining lots of momentum lately. I'd like to see CM Punk, a Hardy brother, or Fit Finlay win. Booker needs to return to his Harlem gimmick before I want anything from him.
Ashley Massaro defeats Womens Champion Melina in a Lumberjill Match
Not something I care much about, but the fans love Ashely's constant sleazy outfits and punky attitude, so she'll take the belt. Maybe she'll wrestling the match wearing just some Skittles glued onto her nipples - the ultimate "fruity, fruity, fruity" advertising.
The Great Khali defeats Kane
I'm not sure about this one. The feud seemed to come out of nowhere and hasn't gotten much build. But I haven't seen Khali ever get pinned, so he might come out on top. They outta make this some type of gimmick match to gain some interest, but they probably will in a following pay-per-view rematch as usual.
ECW Originals defeat ECW New Breed
I'm actually liking the athletic members of the New Breed, but I'd think the too-afraid-to-take-off-my-shirt Originals would prevail on the grandest stage of them all - especially if they have tables, chairs, and flimsy pie tins at their disposal.
United States Champion Chris Benoit defeats MVP
MVP has proven virtually nothing at all by running away during matches and being an overall wuss. He's accomplished nothing so far and I can't see him having a chance against the veteran Crippler. Besides, Benoit already lost it last year. I hope MVP doesn't get some idiotic cheat victory.
Bobby Lashley defeats Umaga in a Hair vs. Hair Match
McMahon's definitely getting his head shaved. That's probably the reason Trump agreed to this to begin with, and the whole event is a bigger benefit to WWE than to Trump. Plus, Umaga's streak is broken anyway, so I'm sure Bobby can take him. I found it funny that McMahon denied Trump a one-on-one match but challenged Lashley last Monday.
The Undertaker defeats World Heavyweight Champion Batista
It would be incredible for Batista to win, but maybe too incredible and displeasing to some fans. The fact that he has the belt makes it more questionable, but I still think the Deadman will retain his record. 14-0 at WrestleMania is even more important than another title reign.
WWE Champion John Cena defeats Shawn Michaels
I had HBK winning, but changed my mind. Perhaps this could be Michaels' final and possibly short-lived WWE title reign, but it's hard to imagine him beating Cena. And does Cena really need to win two WrestleMania title defenses in a row? Their heated relationship building up to this has been interesting.
boy am i late on this one lol, sorry guys. i thought the event as a whole fell a bit short of what wrestlemania ought to be be, but thats really nobody's fault except for vince's. the two main event delivered as we all knew they would and damn am i glad that not only is taker's strak still intact but hes also the world champ, something he is much deserving of! i thought it was a mistake to put the raw title match on last and the tradition is that the royal rumble winner is to face whichever champ he chooses in the "main event". then again they did the same thing last year, and i didnt mind cuz i felt the more important match was held off until the end...not so in this case in my opinion. anyhoo those two matches were great, everything else seemed to either be pretty good or fair at best. still i think the direction they take from here on with certain angles seems pretty promising, so im looking forward to whats in store for the rest of the year.

So how were my predictions? Am I good or am I good? Some of them seemed obvious, but I saw most people choosing MVP and Kane as victors.
After watching the predictions on Pro Wrestling Report via YouTube, I can see why Ashley didn't win. She seems to be a bit of a Flavor of the Month.
The Cena/Michaels/Orton/Edge feud is interesting. I'm thinking it will pan out to just Cena and Orton eventually. Seeing how Cena and Michaels lost their Tag Team titles was pretty neat as well. There wasn't much more to be done with that anyway.
Is it just me or is Benoit stuck in a crappy situation? He should be squashing guys like MVP, but somehow that dolt manages to have long matches by evading and staying on the defensive the entire time. The Miz even scored a cheat victory after somehow sustaining a long match with Benoit and getting a minor aid from MVP. That was ridiculous.
I suppose this discussion should be taken back into the main wrestling thread soon...
I thought it was a pretty good Wrestlemania overall. It definitely started out lackluster, but the final few matches were good enough to leave an overall favorable impression on me.
But good God, that Kane/Khali match was LAME. Somebody needs to teach Khali to do something other than just pick people up and throw them back down. Yeah, the guy is big and impressive, but he needs some damn training. Just being a big mean looking gabrone isn't gonna cut it anymore. Throwing guys like Super Crazy ( ) at Khali just so he can molest them for 5 minutes isn't helping, either.
I'll tell you what, though. The absence of Kurt Angle and HHH were a detriment to this year's Wrestlemania. I wish McMahon would just suck it up and do whatever it takes to bring Angle back into the fold. I watch him every week on TNA, but it's just not the same.
