Ok, I'm a big fan of Dar Cooke. His stuff on the BATMAN BEYOND cartoon, CATWOMAN comix, and THE SPIRIT rock. THE NEW FRONTIER has been his magnum opus for the last six or so years. This week, DC put out another of his comix: JUSTICE LEAGUE THE NEW FRONTIER SPECIAL.
It's a big old thing, with a Superman vs. Batman story set in 1955. Do yourself a favor- spend the 5 bucks and check out the rocket sled Batmobile.
That, my friends, needs to be built in 1/24 scale.
Post ideas for the base car here!
best,

What do you think about the POLAR LIGHTS "Mach 5" kit? It would have the fenders right. The front grille would be re-done for the missle launcher and the cockpit would be adapted to a single-seater. |

Give it a try...
If it comes out looking alittle different,
you might like it...
Plus us...
I would say the: The Batman Batwave
Batmobile has the look you are looking
for...
This Batmobile has the front end of the Mach V,
the pilot style and fighter
jet; cockpit seating...

Thanks compadre, I like your style.
I'm heading down to NYC to meet Cooke next month. I'll ask him! |

I think with enough body filler, the Mach 5 could pull it off. The front would definitely have to be redone, but the rear is surprisingly close. The Mach's single headrest could be adapted into the offset cockpit...yeah, I think that could work.

Right- the rear end is almost there and the cockpit wouldn't be all that bad. The kicker is the lack of details about what is going on with that rocket-launching front end.
My hope is to get as much put together as possible and then ask him at NYCC. |

Well, my two NYCC highlights:
Meeting Spencer1984 and Dar Cooke!
I think Spencer and I share a brain, as my Batman comix collection ends about where his picks up.
Dar Cooke laughed and said "Oh, the Speed Racer Batmobile?", which confirmed my hunch. He talked me through the front end, which is pretty much as Spencer photoshopped it: flat with a grille on the lower end.
I think I may have to start cutting tonight...
It was a wonderful trip to NYC and a pleasure to meet the Super Spencer and Dynamic Darwyn!

It's on!
I first found the POLAR LIGHTS Mach 5 kit and was very surprised/disappointed by it's slight frame. After debating about some serious interventions, I found a snap together at TARGET. My son loved it and I decided to get one too- now, I will have a great Mach 5 (the PL kit) and my Dar Cookemobile!
