Im posting with hopes that I can find a team to help me create an online comic.
This comic happens to be an alternative take on the dark knight.
heres a few sketches to demonstrate the feel im after.
So im going to ask a few questions:
1. your ideas on Villians?
2. Batman solo or team bat?
3. Alterations to the common batman legacy, if any?

AWESOME STUFF! i wanna see batman being solo for most of the time, but wih occasional appearances of the bat-ppl(robin, nightwing, batgirl, huntress, etc.)

The Batman by First Comics.
Through this comic book series im going to make clear automatically that this is not official and is an alternative version of Batman.
Major differences in Batman/Bruces Characters, also a level of mystery that I felt not 100% vital due to Batman Begins.
Characters:
Vikki Vale:
She is the reporter for one of Gothams more frowned apon papers, "the Gazette" has started to cover the urban legend of Batman. At first she started chasing him in hopes to show the public the truth. That Jim Gordon and the DA Harvey Dent were actually using this folk tale to stir Gothams Criminals.
Untill one fateful night her life takes a dramatic spin, she captures the first "true" shots of the Dark Knight.
The Story starts of with her in fear of her life. She is now sure Batman is as mad as any of his foes.
Batman:
He lost his parents, from that moment on Bruce Wayne started to regress back to a child hood fear, Bats.
He is convinced a Demon is inside his head and fears that one day the Demon might want a reward for helping him with his quest.
Bruce:
Considered an embarrassment on the Wayne family name, Bruce lives the playboy life style. Always thinking of himself, he is one of the many batman Haters among the rich, Unknown to all his unity with the Dark Knight is the only reason why he is helping Batman from behind the shadows.
Harvey Dent:
Harv's made his name recently becoming D.A.
He is unsure about the system he works for and to be honest prefers being in the peoples light. Constantly falling out with his supperiors and recently has been accused as helping the Batman.
Harvey is coming to his End in Gotham.
Alex Knox:
Alex works with Vikki on the Batman story, for years he has been investigating rumours of "The Bat". Not Gothams most respected journalist.
Jim Gordon:
Commisioner Gordon is secretly working with Batman. He is very Bias towards Gothams Future and for that is sometimes having to deal with quite serious consiquences. After his wife left him, he now works solely on Gotham, spending very little time to see other Family members.
Dick Grayson/Nightwing:
Training 24/7 Dick has yet to go out on his first mission.
Bruce has made it clear that he must become a true being before he can save the world. Like a Jedi Grayson is slowly becoming the ultimate crime fighter ever, but will he be able to cope with real life situations.
Rogue Gallery:
Huntress:
She is the perfect assasin, only she does not take hit jobs and to some is considered an honourable adversairy. Unlike Batman she Kills without hesitation.
She is connected by family blood to the falcone syndicate.
Poison Ivy:
The perfect women. Cultivated by Dr.Isly, he planned to save his daughter by joining her DNA with a rare plant. For a while he commited crimes in order to get the right equiptment.
He wasnt prepared for Batman stopping his plans, but it wasnt the Batman that would Kill her Father, Ivy herself began to consider herself a plant, when the fire broke out that destroyed Islys Greenhouse, she took revenge on her Father for not helping her save the plants.
Doctor Isly escaped, Ivy was assumed Dead.
Jane Doe:
She has no fullfillment when being herself.
So she stalks and mimics her prey, using their life untill she is caught out.
She can be almost 99% equal to anyone she mimics.
Scarecrow:
Johnathan Crane, obsessed with fear.
He felt the need as a young child to exert power, although not very strong in posture and figure, his brain soon became an island to harvest his fears.
His ultimate Goal is to make the world into a domain of fear.
These are just a few concept ideas.
I am going to try my hardest to make it an alternative but still quite faithful Batman.
Any things you guys liked/disliked let me know. |

I coulda sworn I posted in here already...
That artstyle is cool, especially the title logo. Real cartoony yet captures a good, dark atmosphere.
Batman is good as a loner, but I could easily see this style having sidekicks included. I can't think of anything that should be changed, you could have fun playing around with origins of sidekicks and villains (like The Batman does). Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

One thing im sure about is Huntress will be a villian.
I'll have to draw her to show you what I mean by the new look but if anyone has ever seen a film called "Naked Killer" im basing her from that movie.
(Its about a slick female assasin).
Id like to have a more Tim Burton/BTAS feel to this comic so its highly doubtful that anyone but Dick and Jason Todd will appear. So sorry all those batgirl 1 or 2 fans.

Well Dick will be in training...
Batman basically is Training Dick so that if he dies he has a replacement.
Also if this "DEMON" takes over his mind completely, Dicks responsibility is to take Batman down.
But as far as Tim goes nope not gonna happen.
I did toy with the idea of having Jasons exsistance but if he was to be mentioned it would only be to justify why Grayson wasnt Robin, due to Jasons untimely death.
yeah a large majority is on paint but this is due to the fact of not wanting to draw a certain scene or time restraints. Expect characters to be drawn by hand. |

Okay I moddified the news picture, Im actually working on new stuff so just check for an edit of this post as I havent quite finished yet.
Been making some major changes to The Batman.
The first issue is how Batman is going to appear, all I can say right now is that im aiming for a more shadowy avenger kind of similar to spawn or the crow.
So alot of the story will be told from the characters involved in this world.
Vikki and Knox will be constantly trying to discover the secret identity of Batman.
Which can lead them in the action, but they have become so engrossed in the myth, once they see him they will stop at nothing to discover who he is.
NO Batgirl, Batwomen, Bat-mite or Nightwing.
Bruce Wayne is a millionaire but not known as being a public investor or personality. He is apparently on vacation "24/7" and many Gothamites wouldnt recognize him if they were to meet him.
He is withdrawn and still battling with the untimely death of his family.
His only close friend is Alfred.
Alfred is very similar to the latest movie alfred and not a posh stuck up or over kindly father figure. He does wish the Batman would be a passing phase.
Gotham City is on the brink of a finacial boom, not a friendly city and seen as more of an industrial haven. It has reflections of the 1930's/2016, the citizens are forced to endure acts of violence on them by crime lords all around.
The rich live in freedom while the poor are left to slave for the last piece of indentity they have left.
Its merely refered to as the dark city by non-citizens, unfortunately for Gotham things are about to turn alot worse.

Okay Im debating on some issues.
Should I use a more free hand approuch like the joker picture
which would result in the comics being quicker to make.
Or my Toon Zone kinda look you see in stuff like Teen Titans/BATMAN TNA.
Also should joker have a Harley? |

Dude, I'm loving this stuff! It's definitely not the road I want the mainstream DC comics to take, but I definitely appreciate it as an alternative vision! I love the way you have Batman as an almost insane schizophrenic and I couldn't be more delighted that you're having Al Knox in the story. I like the approach you're taking with Dick as well, interesting and logical. Overall, you're story is shaping out to be a nightmarish Tim Burton/Frank Miller type story with elements of Batman Begins and BTAS. Very good.

Great stuff due, I'm liking what's here so far. And regarding Harley, it depends on how psycho your Joker is gonna get, more psycho less Harley, less psycho mroe Harley. Thats my stance regarding Harley anyways.

The Joker is based on Batman TAS/Dark Knight Returns.
So If i were to make a Joker and Harley in my Gotham.
She'd have to be kinda on the edge for someone to enjoy a relationships with the Joker.
Joker is as Jacky boy put it "the first homocidal Artist" so yeah alot more creepier, quieter and less comic than say Batman 1960's Joker.
But when he laughs it is always because of something sinisterly evil.
He lives in what many would call "hightend Sanity", literally living for the moment but somehow unable to recount any of his former mob life.
HE DIDNT KILL BRUCE WAYNES PARENTS LIKE IN THE MOVIE!!!!
So I agree maybe if Harley is in it she will need a radical character change.
hmmm it might just be easier to keep her as Harleen for now that way I always have the option of bringing her in.
Any sketches or ideas people wanna add to this would be super as Im working on so many characters and Harley is one of the later characters to be introduced im pretty sure of that.
Id appreciate advice on a batcar design.

I say you leave Harley out of it if he's going to be partly based on Dark Knight Returns. Personally, I'd like to see Bob the goon from the 1989 movie.
