Well, four of the five Hot Wheels 1/50 cars/cycle have an obvious origin.
The car from most of the episodes of Batman: The Animated Series
The "Tumbler" from Batman Begins
The 1966 TV series car, based on the Ford Futura
The Batcycle introduced in the 1967 film based on the mid-late 1960s TV series
So . . .
Which car is the "Comic Book" car based upon?

I believe it's supposed to be this one, the first Batmobile from All-Star Batman & Robin:
Although it's not an exact match, there are a lot of details like the headlight arrangement, side louvers, and roof fin to make me think this is what they were aiming for.

Yes Spencer thats the most common car, the animated & tumbler are the ones that sell out fast...
But I still can't belive that my local store got this 1966 1/18 in stock, well it was the last one ... I think I will get some soon $5.99 is a cool price. |

PLay.com have them listed as coming soon.
If you're around the London, I'm sure Modelzone in Holborn will get them at some point.
Forbidden Planet (either instore or online will have them too).
For all it's worth, the 1/18th 66 Batmobile (centre of Black Knight's picture) has been in all those stores for some weeks now.
Welcome to BYTB by the way..... |
