I'm hosting a discussion of the 20th Anniversary release of KILLING JOKE.

The line artwork was "tweaked" and the colours tell a very different story. Is it worth your 18 USD?

Come join the discussion and toss your $.05 about the last two story pages!

In terms of helping tell the story, the original Higgins is better because it gives it a little more eerie feeling. The colors of the original work best when Batman is in the amusement park.

However, I do like the new colors because it doesn't give me a headache. Ideally, I'd like to have both copies.

The more I see both, the more I like Bolland's cold color palette for the beginning of the story and John Higgins more impressionistic coloring for the Ghost Train ride.

Go figure.

I gotta say, that's a tough call - I was all set to say it's not worth it, but seeing the photo of the new colors makes me reconsider that decision.

I wasn't planning to get it.
Now I am.
Thanks for bringing out the differences between the special edition and the original addition!

It's an interesting idea, to be sure. The size is very appealing and it's a format that DC is now considering for other HC specials.

It does appear that the next KILLING JOKE BOXED set, which will contain Batman and Joker action figures, will include the OLD version of KILLING JOKE.

FYI, for what it's worth...

I already own the original version & I don't think I'm gonna buy the new one. Mainly just because my cash flow is kinda limited right now. I might buy it later though, just to see the new coloring.
