We all know that in the Infinite Crisis arc...Batman just recently quit the Justice League! After the mind-wipe and Superman beating the crap out of him...not to mention the great punch that knocked Hawkman on his a**!, do you like that Bats has told the League where to go?
I do! I DO!*dance* |

I knew of all this ruckus going on with Batman and his fellow JLA-ers, but I haven't been following the actual JLA title. Do you know which issue in particular he makes it official that he's out? And when does Supes put the beatdown on him?

i really dont like the idea of batman being with a major team such as the JLA, batman is a loner, he relies on himself, and he doesnt fit in with the team

I believe he officially quit in either JLA #116 or #117, Superman is also thinking of it. He punched Hawkman in #116 and Superman beat him under control by Max Lord believing he was Darkseid and found out it was Batman in Action Comics #829.
I know Wonder Woman killed Lord in her comic, snapping his neck and Sasha was killed in the last OMAC.
There's a thread called Crisis Counseling at CBRForums that is giving a run down of each title involved in the Crisis arc. That's how I know what's going on in all the books at the moment. It's nice for keeping up on all of it leading to the mini-series and not have to buy them all! |

I don't think that there is an issue with the traditional storming out saying, "I quit." Basically around the last issue that came out he ignored a distress signal.
He will be back with the JLA. It may be a while, but the entropy of comics always seeks to return to its normal calmness. It will take a while after the stuff that looks like is about to go down though. Things across the whole DCU are really going wild.
I think a big part of the Crisis is the destruction of the Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman relationship. Rucka severed things pretty well in a matter of 4 comics. Now the most powerful heroes won't be working together when everything hits the fan. That is what the Perez cover to Infinite Crisis 1. The big three turn their backs on each other.

And a very powerful symbolic image it is, too. Loads better than the Jim Lee cover, to boot.

That's pretty cool. A lot like the old Crisis series, accept these days they put out three or four cover variations.
Is anyone else just a little bothered by the title? It's obviously supposed to be like Crisis on Infinite Earths, but I think it's way too similiar. Crisis after Crisis after Crisis...
Something I just noticed about that cover; there's no Batman villains, and Psycho Pirate even made it into this series. I haven't seen anything about him since the original Crisis.

I know Psycho Pirate showed up during Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man, where he was spewing out pre-Crisis characters. (Sounds nuts, but pretty mundane stuff for Morrison. :p )
I kinda like the motif of using "Crisis" in the titles. It's appropriate for 2 reasons:
1. This event is, in large part, a celebration of the twentieth anniversary of Crisis on Infinite Earths, and
2. It reminds me of the old "Crisis On Earth S!" and other crossovers that were held annually from the '60s right up into the '80s. (No, I'm not that old, but I've read reprints.)
What's most important, though, is that the stuff leading up to the main event has been, for the most part, exceptional. I'm enjoying the hell out of it, and I hope it only gets better as we go along.

They're actually saying that its a sort of sequel to the original Crisis. They haven't said if it will actually have anything to do with the original or if it will just be in the same spirit, though.
