I don't know about that. In a few ways I see the first two Batman movies more like the comics than Begins and that's why I like them a lot, so it does seem interesting.

A remake of the old Batman movie is (IMO) a terrible idea. It is an 80's Tim Burton film and that's where it belongs. Batman Begins is far better and has barely any ties to pop culture in it, which makes it a timeless movie that will still be good in twenty years (like Superman) but Batman 1989 is riddled with 80's songs and culture.

i like 89 just as much as begins. and the remake 89 is basically the sequel to begins anyways...it is joker isnt it?

I assume you mean the 1989 version Batman and not the 1966 version Batman The Movie. In either case my answer is no way.
The 1996 Adam West movie was campy and funny and great escape from the tumultuous ?60?s. During a time of political assignations, free love, equal rights and anti war movements and of course Viet Nam, who could fault a fun care free show that took you away from all that.
The 1989 Michael Keaton version was a timeless classic. Yes, it suffers like Miami Vice with dated music, but the film still stands as one of the best comic book character films ever done. Like Christopher Reeves Superman before it, they should not try to remake a classic. We already have too many remakes in the theaters these days.

See I see the first two capturing the themes of the comics better (probly because Christopher Nolan is trying to make his Batman as realistic as possible) but Begins captures more of the comic plot and storywise...Anyways, nothing beats a classic. To be honest with you I see Batman 89 and Batman Returns as timeless movies, I mean if I were to watch it today for the first time ever without knowing anything about Batman at all I would never guess how old/recent it was. To me theres a difference between Remake and Remade (not going to explain) but dont Remake Batman because I think it disrespects the original and the last thing people were thinking when they saw it in theaters in 1989 was a remake.

it should not be remade but remembered for the classic is was and still is today. let BB be your surlply of batman in the theartre and JLU and TB be your television surply.

In a way wasn't Begins a remake? It went back to the beggining of Batmans career. As far as a actual scene to scene remake, thats a bad idea. Anyone remember the remake to psycho? My point.
I like the first film, although there are flaws in it. Begins is the best batman film to date. |
