I dont know if hate is the right word. There is a percieved (and a lot of times its true) look on the behavior of gays. They tend to be more flamboyant, etc. You know hte steryotypes. The thing that bothers me is they put a gay chareceter in just to put one in. Like any minority, its more for political corectness, etc.
if the charecter of batwomen is really not expanded and is gay jusy to be gay, then it'll end up a dud. |

The one thing I thought was a little off in Dans comments was the fact that he felt he needed a more defined Lesbian character or something along those lines. Okay heres the list im aware of and anyone feel free to add too it...
Montoya
Maggie Sawyer
Scandal (new character from Villians United)
Knockout (old Superboy love interest, and Scandals girlfriend)
Crimson Fox (new GL issue #11 in it she makes a lesbian or bisexual style comment about one of the French girls on the Global Guardians.)
DC is already working this angle so it didnt come as a suprise. If they wanted diversity then you wouldve thought they would create a gay male character. But since most of the readership is male lets add another internet fan fiction opportunity here by adding another "lipstick lesbian" character.:rolleyes: If you notice tho for diversitys sake the lesbian couldve been a different race then another white woman.:p |

Is this the same Crimson Fox that debuted in Justice League Europe? When she first came around it was actually twin sisters acting as one superheroine. I wonder if that is still the situation.

In GL # 11..the African Guardian, Freedom Beast said.."You must be the new Crimson Fox." She was discovered fighting the French twin villians Double Dare whom first appeared in Nightwing. The reason I included her is because when she scratches one of the girls she licks the blood off her nail and says "You have good taste..very good taste" with a wistful look on her face. It may be the way Ivan has drawn her but my first impression is why I put her on my list. |

Don't forget Holly, the new lesbian Catwoman.
DC is definately increasing the amount of homosexual females they have in the DCU.
As long as her being a lesbian is just a part of her, and doesn't define her then I'll be happy.
And hopefully, stories about Batwoman won't all be "gay is ok" type pushing the gay agenda stories. I don't want more Northstar giving a speech about being gay nonsense.
That's probably the biggest problem with gay characters. If they aren't making some social statement, then they're just unimportant token gay stereotypes.
DC has impressed me with Renee Montoya and Catwoman, so hopefully Batwoman will also be well written.
Now let's get a gay male character who isn't some random cop in Nightwing and DC will have the diversity thing all done.

A lesbian Batwoman that's an outrage making a straight character gay i'm tired of these peopele destroying the morality of this world the whole purpose of the creation of Batwoman was to be a love interest for Batman now there making her a gay that kinda defeats her purpose.  :upsetw::upsetw::upsetw::upsetw: IM PI%SED OFF

I can understand people are upset.. but come on, she was created back in the 50's to atrract more female characters. Not for a love intrest for Batman.
I don't mind, as long as it's tactful, I mean, if they show her doing stuff in every issue, then yea, thats going WAY overboard.

I just found out this morning about the NEW BATWOMAN, I have been a HUGE Batgirl (Miss Gordon) fan since I was a kid, Then they got Joker to shoot her & cripple her. They then release news of a new Batgirl comic going to b released and I was so excited until I saw the comic and sorry to say dont like her at all.
I have been saying for years I hope they let Bab's walk again & become Batgirl again & I hope they release a new version of Kathy Kane's Batwoman. I sadly dont own any comics with Batwoman in it coz those comics r so old and so expensive. But I always found her real interesting & thought she looked cool. Now this morning I find out a new version is coming & Im so excited. Her costume looks AWESOME !
The sexuality was a shock to me coz I wasnt expecting it but it doesnt bother me AT ALL.
I have been looking up on the net trying to find out as much info as possible about The New Batwoman & I have been reading that Montoya & the new Catwoman r lesbians. . . Can I ask SINCE WHEN? Geez where have I been?
So has there been any appearance of The New Batwoman as yet? Coz if so I want 2 buy those comics A.S.A.P, Any figures? Cartoons? Movies? LOL I'm prob getting bit 2 excited now

Forgot to add in my first post that I totally fell in love with The Birds Of Prey TV series Batgirl. They done Batgirl in that series the best, She was 10000% the BEST live action Batgirl ever, I was wrapped to see how tough & dark she was & the costume was awesome & so close to perfect. Then sadly the series was cancled.

Welcome to the boards! The new Batwoman hasn't appeared in comics yet, but her alter-ego was in the latest issue of 52. Nothing further at this point, though. So far it actually looks like she'll be a good character with a reason for being in the story, not just a tacked-on PR move.
BoP was pretty cool, sadly a lot of wasted potential. |

Is this true or false?
So Kathy Kane has made her debut in the Comic 52 Week but we dont get to see her as Batwoman until next issue? So which issue is it that Kathy has made her first appearance? Sorry Im just so behind now hahahaha & trying to catch up and understand everything new that is going on.
But anything bout Batwoman I want to know LOL & purchase of course

Welcome! Montoya is, Catwoman isn't. And to be honest, I don't knwo when Montoya came out. I collected comics during Knightfall, got them again after NML, but still, I guess I missed all the signs... :|

Being Gay or a Lesbian DOES NOT MAKE YOU IMMORAL. A person?s sexual preference has no being on their morality. There are plenty of ?straight? people who are immoral, I mean have you seen Dateline recently?
I think DC needed an edge so they made this new Batwoman a Lesbian an got a lot more press than they would have if they just brought back the character. I don?t think Batwoman was ever a love interest for Batman and I don?t see this new version being any different.
Sorry you?re mad about it but try to be more tolerant OK?

what are you getting at? so what if she's gay? People are who they want to be, not who others want them to be. Individualism and choice are the pinnacle of our nature and it so happens that the ones who ressurected her brought her back with a different sexual orientation. This was done by choice. Montoya was "outed" in the "Half a Life" story that ran through Gotham Central 6 through 10. The full 40 issues of that series was pretty good if you want some good stories. I am pretty sure that the story that you are wanting to read has been collected, so you might just pick that up if you can't find the issues.
I haven't picked it up yet, but I would assume that 52 Week 7 has the appearance of Kathy Kane. It mentions on the cover that and old flame for Montoya returns, so that should be Kathy.
Batwoman made an appearance in a two page spread showing a bunch of heroes at the end of Infinite Crisis 7. There really is nothing story related to it, but I guess it would technically be the first appearance of the new Batwoman. The art that has been circulating around is from 52 Week 11 where Batwoman is going to appear.

As of Catwoman 53 you are not entirely correct. After the year jump there was a new person that is Catwoman. Holly, Selina's replacement, is a lesbian. For reasons that are shown in the preview pages for Catwoman 53, Selina was in serious need of a replacement.
From what I can see from the preview pages for Catwoman 56, Selina may be back as Catwoman.

I bought 52 Week issue one, seven & Eight but yeh it doesnt make sense to me.
Is it continuing from Infinite Crisis? Not that I have read it but yeh is that wats happening?
Superboy died? How?
Does anyone know where Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman are?
I bought issue seven coz it introduces Kathy Kane so I bought issue 8 as well coz thought she would b in that issue as well but nope nothing bout her, When is she in it next?
I know she FINALLY becomes Batwoman in WEEK 11 but do we see more bout Kathy b4 issue 11? Do we see shadwos or anything of the new Batwoman b4 issue 11?
Is she going to b in issue 11, 12 & all the way to issue 52 or will her story b ova & move on to other characters? I'm just 100% only interested in Batwoman/Kathy Kane so thats y I just want 2 get the issues with her story.
Is Batwoman getting HER OWN comic series coz thats wat I want? I dont want it to continue with only seeing her here & there, I want her own series so I know in every issue she will b in it, her story will b more evolved or they planning on doing back stories and so on in later issues of 52?

Batwoman I appeared in Detective Comics #233 (July 1956).
Batwoman II Will appear in 52 #11 (July 2006).
See anyhting? Batwoman is 50 years old this month! Looks good for an old woman!!
