PLOT:
Almost twenty-one years old, Helena Bertinelli sits poised to inherit her family fortune in a few days. Five years after the raid on the Asaro farm where she grew up in Sicily, Helena returns home and once again she is alone. Left all by herself through fates beyond her control. Just like those many years ago when a masked hitman barged into her home and executed her entire family around the dinner table, leaving only Helena alive. What's worse - the thing that seems to haunt Helena the most is the way that the man controlled her using fear and walked away, taking everything from her - even the cross around her neck.

Yes, there was a time when Helena Bertinelli had dreams. She always dreamt big. She wanted to be the Pope (not realizing that women can never be Pope). Now she dreams of only vengeance. Omerta - the cry for blood. Yes things have changed and now the young girl who was once so small and scared is now grown and quite proficient with her weapons and fighting skills - perhaps the best hunter around. Correction - Huntress. These skills which she acquired mostly through the tutelage of her surrogate brother Sal Asaro (now rotting away in an Italian prison) are called to test when Helena suddenly finds herself surrounded by armed goons.

The goons it would seem are henchmen working for Tomaso "Tommy" Panessa, Helena's uncle and only living blood relative. Uncle Tommy goes on to say that the heads of all the major families are meeting at an estate belonging to a prominent mobster by the name of "the Pope." The purpose of the meeting is to re-structure the families now that so many of them are behind bars. Tommy wants Helena to go back to Gotham but Helena refuses. She has other business on her mind. She heads to Palermo where Sal is being held determined to bust her surrogate brother out of jail!
