PLOT:
Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman decide to re-form the Justice League and must choose the new roster of members. A new villain appears during their selection process, and he's just one of the many sinister forces gathering to bring an end to the league.

PLOT SYNOPSIS:
Yesterday – Gotham City – The Cave - Following the first battle that formed the Justice League of America Batman and Superman discuss the ramifications of forming the team. Batman points out that it will not be like their past team ups. Wonder Woman arrives and the three decide to go through with forming the team.

Yesterday – 22.300 miles above Earth - Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman argue about allowing Red Tornado to sacrifice himself. Batman points out that the League is designed to prevent the loss of their comrades. Wonder Woman sees Tornado as another loss in battle.

Tomorrow – Coast City – The Wedding of Hal Jordan – Bruce Wayne is surprised that Hal is getting married. Diana points out that they always betted that it would be either Bruce or Oliver Queen.

Yesterday – The Wedding of Donna Troy – The happy occasion is attended by most of the heroes. Bruce talks about how proud he is of Dick Grayson for becoming more than he has been able to be. Bruce is not happy with Clark’s non-attendance, but Diana points out that the gift of Superman keeping the peace is excellent.

Tomorrow – Metropolis – Lex Luthor violently attacks Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman for the death of his son.

Yesterday – Challengers’ Mountain – The Detroit Justice League has replaced the Satellite League. Batman is displeased because of the lack of experience in the group. Wonder Woman and Superman assure him that they will be fine. Batman predicts that someone is going to get hurt.

Tomorrow – Smallville – Jonathan Kent has died. Bruce and Diana try to console Jonathan’s wife and son, Martha and Clark. Clark finally understands why Bruce has done some of the things he does. He can not believe how long Bruce has lived with the loss of his parents. Bruce replies that, as much as he hates to say it, he got used to it.

Yesterday – Gotham City – The Cave – Batman proudly states that his new Robin is Jason Todd. Superman and Wonder Woman are surprised to see how happy Batman is about the new addition.

Tomorrow – Paradise Island – Wonder Woman is sacrificing her immortality to be with the man she loves. Batman and Superman offer their support, but question whether or not her decision is wise. She says that she would rather live as a mortal than face immortality without him.

Yesterday – JLI Embassy – Batman recounts his “fight” with Guy Gardner to Wonder Woman and Superman. They are astonished at Batman’s action, but very amused since it could not have happened to anyone better.

Tomorrow – The New Satellite – Superman is the only one to attend the annual meeting between the three founders. He blames Batman for the splintering of the trio.

Yesterday – Antarctica – The Fortress – Wonder Woman has heard the grim news, but will not believe it until she has heard it from Batman. She only has to see the Dark Knight to confirm that Superman has died. Batman denies this happening, and vows to make the next Justice League stronger to stop threats like Doomsday.

Tomorrow – The Hall – The Flash’s discovery of a second Earth bothers the three heroes. None of the easily grasp the existence of a world so different, but very similar to theirs.

Tomorrow – Crime Alley – Batman has fallen. Superman feels guilty because he feels that at the end Batman hated him. Wonder Woman assures him that that is not true.

Yesterday – Gotham City – The Cave – The three meet to reform the Justice League of America since they are the ones that destroyed it in their conflict at the beginning of the Infinite Crisis.

REVIEW:
This is a great way at telling the origins and history of the Justice League. I really expected to have your standard history highlighting the main events of the team, but instead Meltzer shows everything from Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman's point of view. He even spins things around to show that they were involved and knowledgable about the League when they were not members.

There are some great future history moments hiere that hint at things like the Dark Knight Returns and adapting history from the Silver and Gold Ages to be a future happening for the current incarnations. I am sure a few of the future highlights that will occur in Meltzer's run on the title.

The art was helpful in telling what era it was from. THis helped smoothe out a jagged story that jumps around quite a bit. When there is an art you change you knew that threre was a time change.

All in all this is a great beginning to the new Justice League of America which has been predicted by Booster Gold, in 52 Week 1, to be history's greatest.
