PLOT:
Four crime bosses return to a nearly deserted island where they have hidden their loot. Batman has received an anonymous tip and followed them to the island. On the island an old hermit curses each of the men including Batman and sends them on their way.

Nails Lewin appears to crash in his boat and die, fulfilling the prophecy. Each crime boss is then captured by Batman in a manner described in the curse. Batman and Robin return to the island and find that the hermit was one of Nails’ men. The curse was a way to cut the other bosses out of their share of the loot. Batman captures Nails and the hermit. In doing so he completes the prophecy from the curse.

TITLE: The Human Flame

PLOT:
A crook named Mike has designed a crime suit. The suit exerts fire, electric charges, and has a cutting torch. He and his partner Joey begin to steal using the suit.

Martian Manhunter catches up to them and tries to stop them. The flame from the suit weakens the martian, and he is just barely able to snuff out the flame with water.

The crooks continue to steal while the Manhunter is recovering. When he tries to capture them again, the flame prevents him from getting close. Instead he carries the ground, the crooks are standing on, high into the air. The thin air snuffs out the flame again, and Manhunter is able to capture them.
