PLOT:
Escaped criminal John Stannar discovers an unmanned alien ship just outside of Gotham City. Inside he discovers that the aliens have sent several amazing devices for the good of mankind and a single weapon of destruction. Stannar takes the devices and uses them for criminal purposes. Despite Batman's best efforts Stannar eludes capture with the help of the gadgets. Batman finally lures Stannar into using the weapon of destruction. When activated the weapon destroys the other devices as Batman had deduced. Without his gadgets, Stannar is easily apprehended.

TITLE: The Stymied Sleuth

PLOT:
Detective John Jones is assigned to track down Joe Ganges and his gang. When he steps outside the police station, he is struck in the head. Although unharmed, he must feign injury to protect his secret martian powers. John is then rushed to the hospital.

While in the hospital J'onn slips away to trail the crooks, who have split up. J'onn captures them one-by-one, while dashing back and forth to the hospital to keep his absence from being noticed. The strategy is successful as J'onn captures all three crooks and protects his secret identity.
