PLOT:
Mary Marvel finds herself at the Rock of Eternity where Billy Batson is now filling the role of the wizard Shazam. He tells her that Freddy is on a quest to become the new Shazam. Billy is concerned about Mary's change in costume and attitude. He wonders if it wasn't destiny for her to lose her powers but she flies off, refusing to give up the powers she got from Black Adam.

Forerunner is approached by Monarch in Washington, D.C. He invites her to join him to become her own boss and fight in a great war.

Jimmy Olsen returns to Suicide Slum looking for trouble, hoping to activate another super-power. A gang attacks him and at first nothing happens as he is beaten but then porcupine-like quills fly out of him, causing the gang to flee.

Holly Robinson is met by a woman who invites her to a women's shelter she runs. Inside the shelter all the women are dressed in a Greek/Roman style as is the architecture.

Pied Piper and Trickster are on the run after the murder of the Flash. Piper suggests turning themselves in but Trickster thinks they should hide out. They are being watched by people who follow them, hoping to be led to some other people.

NOTE:
Two page end of issue story entitled, "History of the Multiverse, Chapter 6" in which the Monitors examine the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The crisis on infinite earths began when anti-matter began consuming worlds. The Earth-3 Lex Luthor saved his son by sending him to Earth-1 before their world was destroyed. The Monitor summoned heroes from many Earths to fight the Anti-Monitor who caused the disaster. Many heroes died in the crisis but the Anti-Monitor was stopped. The result was one Earth, a mixing of Earths-1 and 2. Alex Luthor, Earth-2 Superman and Lois Lane, and Earth-Prime Superboy survived in a pocket dimension that Luthor found.
