PLOT:
As Superman Prime and Monarch begin to duke it out amongst the wasteland that was the perfect Earth, Donna Troy and the other Challengers see a message seemingly written especially for them. The message reads, "To Apokolips." While Donna and Jason argue over whether or not they saw the directions, Earth 51's Batman decides to spring into action to battle the remaining ne'r do wells roaming the streets.

Shocked to see another Earth's version of the Joker alive and taunting him, Batman is caught off guard and killed by an unknown version of Superman from Monarch's army. Monitor 51 urges the challengers to leave before they are killed and so he opens up a portal to Apokolips. Before leaving for Apokolips, Jason Todd makes sure to avenge the death of the only Batman angry enough to avenge his - by crushing the Joker's skull with a gigantic rock.

Solomon the Monitor appears to have beaten Forerunner in battle but before he can finish her off he is distracted by Darkseid. Darkseid lures Solomon away with a promise that the "next move" is theirs to make.

Finally, Prime and Monarch's battle ends when Prime rips Monarch's armor open. This unleashes an atomic blast so large that it wipes out the entire universe - apparently including Lord Havok and Monarch's entire army of multiversal super-heros. The other monitors retreat before the blast can go off but Earth-51's Monitor stays behind. He appears to be the lone survivor of the battle however but is given hope by the growth of a single surviving plant. "Where there is life, there is hope."

NOTE:
Special end of issue story entitled, "The Origin of Cyborg Superman"
