Oracle checked out a second attack on a scientific research facility. Black Canary, who was taking a day off, got attacked by an apelike creature. She fled on her motorcycle, but it kept up. The creature, calling itself Java, captured Canary. Oracle was attacked in the Clocktower as a third research facility was bombed.
