PLOT:
While on patrol, Batman hears the sound of a woman screaming. When he reaches her apartment, she is already dead, but the culprit is still there. Batman battles the murderer out onto the rooftops. Before Batman can learn more, however, the murderer is vaporized from across the city. The next day, Bruce Wayne visits Wayne Aerospace to ask Lucius Fox about the weapon. Fox tells him the company had worked on one, but it was not workable since it could not be carried anywhere.
Later, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor make a presentation to the defense department for a lucrative government contract. Afterwards, they are attacked by a giant robot, which may well have been built by Wayne Tech.
