PLOT:
The Joker recruits several practical jokers and blackmails them into working for him. The pranksters pull pranks which distract police and Batman from the Joker’s real crimes. The Clown Prince of Crime can’t resist gloating though and gives Batman a clue to his next job. The Dynamic Duo solve Joker’s riddle and manage to stop the crook, but once again Joker escapes incarceration by falling to his apparent death.

PLOT:
Batman and Robin uncover a blackmail scheme conducted by a phony swami. Batman phones Commissioner Gordon to alert him of the illegal activity, but Gordon’s search turns up no evidence. Granda the swami is angered with Batman, so he has Linda Page kidnapped. Batman foils the plan, then infiltrates the swami’s men. Gordon arrives again, this time catching Granda in the act. Batman and Gordon part on friendly terms for perhaps the first time.

TITLE: The North Woods Mystery

PLOT:
Nora Powell, a friend of Bruce Wayne, inherits part of her murdered uncle’s lumber company. Bruce and Nora visit the company and meet the other new owner of the company, Mr. Powell’s adopted son, Jack Clayton.

A series of accidents which nearly kill Nora lead Bruce to believe Clayton is trying to kill her. He investigates as Batman and eventually uncovers a plot by Asher, head of a rival lumber company, to take control of Powell Lumber. Asher had Nora’s uncle killed and was blackmailing Clayton into giving up his share of the company. With the scheme exposed, Clayton is cleared, then he and Nora get together as partners and lovers.

TITLE: The People Vs. the Batman

PLOT:
Freddie Hill, a gang leader, hires a paid killer to kill his rival Horatio Delmar. The killer, Weasel, succeeds in murdering Delmar and frames Bruce Wayne for the crime. Hill then tries to kill Weasel, but succeeds only in putting him in the hospital.

Robin breaks Bruce out of jail, after Hill hires another man to disguise himself as Batman and try to kill Weasel in the hospital. The real Batman and Robin are able to bring Hill to the police, but the district attorney is against the Caped Crusader. Commissioner Gordon speaks up in Batman’s favor, and Weasel arrives to testify against Hill. Bruce and Batman are both cleared of wrongdoing, and Batman is made an honorary member of the police force.
