A criminal gang that operated in Gotham City. Using radioactive isotopes combined with rare meteorite fibres, they created sneakers that gave them super-speed. Batman was helpless against the Speed Boys and called in the Flash (II) to help capture them. However, the Flash at the time suffered from an illness that threatened to kill him if he used his super-speed. Nevertheless, he tried to hunt the Speed Boys... and seemingly died. Later, he reappeared alive and revealed that the radioactivity in the Speed Boys' sneakers had cured him. After that, it was an easy work capturing the entire Speed Boys gang. One pair of sneakers was later found by a homeless Gothamite. Whatever happened to them and him is unknown.
