Professor Pyg (as in Pygmalion) has a fascination with 'perfecting' people by turning them into his mindless Dollotron soldiers.

A small-time "extreme" circus leader and head of the Le Cirque D'Etrange, Pyg crafted a unique form of narcotic which can be spread in the form of a virus and is capable of erasing someone's personality and mind. When he first crosses paths with the Batman he is selling the identity-destroying drug to Russian people traffickers for use in their illegal immigration and prostitution fronts.

Though the exact process one endures when becoming a Dollotron is unknown, it's assumed that this narcotic is part of the mixture that goes into the making of the grotesque 'doll' mask that is affixed to their faces before becoming part of his army. The masks attach themselves to the skin of the wearer and become impossible to remove without completely removing the flesh from the victim's face.

Pyg wants to 'perfect' all of Gotham and at one point planned on using his narcotics to hold the entire city hostage and revolutionize the Gotham drug trade. He has severe mommy issues (the origins of which are unknown) and has been seen talking to a giant razor-wire effigy of his mother which he calls 'Mommy Made of Nails.'

In the Flash-Forward Potential Future of Batman #666, Pyg is shown having been murdered by the Third Batman. He's found crucified upside down with a railroad spike shoved down his throat.
