Dan Coleman never felt that he measured up to his older brother Tom, and became a drifter, eventually falling in with Felix Faust, becoming the mage's apprentice. Serving with Faust, he used the name Danko Twag, which he had used when playing super-hero games with his brother. Danko learned the secrets of teleportation from some of Faust's tomes, learning a method of instant travel from place to place which required him to draw his own blood. He used this to commit crimes until Felix Faust discovered this and cast him out, his memory damaged. He then hooked up with other villains, including Captain Cold and a gang of art thieves, before fixating on Barbara Gordon and menacing her in her own apartment. After this encounter he seemed to calm down, but then learned that Tom was seeing Barbara Gordon, and went over the edge again and attacked Black Canary as well as his own brother. However, it seemed he had teleported too many times, and he collapsed with exhaustion, possibly dead.
