Action Figures & Dolls - Dolls - Captain Action
In competition with Hasbro's popular G.I. Joe line, Ideal started their own Captain Action. Combining the licenses to both Marvel and DC Comics, plus a few other popular strip characters, they created a line that let kids take a single Captain Action or Action Boy doll and make them into any character they wanted, thanks to Uniform & Equipment sets sold individually. The Captain Action series is considered to have created the very first Batman & Robin action figures, and in retrosect, a very innovative ideal rarely seen since.
