Attack Armor Batman

Attack Armor Batman
Batman: Mattel, 2005. Assortment C3258, # 2854

Attack Armor Batman is one of the best Batman action figures ever released. Sadly, it never saw release here in the United States. This was a Deluxe figure from Wave 6, the last Wave of the original Mattel Comic Style Batman figures.

Attack Armor Batman is proof that Mattel could make a Marvel Legends style figure if they wanted to. This is a fabulous figure and one that you can't help but all ways pickup bend into all sorts of poses.

SPECS:

The figure stands 6.5 inches tall and has 24 points of articulation, twice that of Zipline Batman (head, shoulders, biceps, elbows, gloves, torso, waist, hips, knees and ankles) and a long (6 ??) cloth cape, the longest I?ve seen on a Batman figure. It comes with a Mega Batarang and Shield with spring loaded ?Bat Wings? and a firing projectile.

PROS:

A dead on classic Comic Book look and articulation that is close to Marvel Legends. Ball Joints in the shoulders and hips and Cut Joints at biceps and knees add a whole new range of motion and poseability over all previous Batman figures.

CONS:

My only gripe is that the head is a Cut Joint, not a Ball Joint and that it is too small compared to the rest of the figure. See the comparison photo with Zipline Batman below to see what I mean.

OVERALL:

This is one of the best Batman figures ever released. The articulation makes for outstanding playability and a really good value, assuming you would give this to a kid to play with. The only draw back is that it was only released overseas and is really a collector figure. The first three waves of Comic Style figures languished on the pegs in the U.S. and Mattel was forced to look else where to sell the last of the line. Waves 4, 5 and 6 all were sent overseas. I got mine from an eBay Seller in the Philippines. Not easy to find and not cheap if you find it, but worth the hunt and worth the money. This figure is a must have for any Batman or action figure collector.
