SYNOPIS:
Artemis faces an uphill battle trying to win over her new teammates as she tries to fill Red Arrow's boots on a mission he initiated: saving a brilliant young scientist from the League of Shadows.
On Infinity Island, Speedy breaks into a compound and quietly makes his way past the guards. In a laboratory, Dr. Serling Roquette is informed that she needs to complete the project or she'll forfeit her lab. Speedy breaks in and she's disappointed that he's the only one who came to rescue her. He blasts a hole through the wall, but she says that she can't leave her project behind. Speedy warns her that he has to take her or it, and she reluctantly agrees to go with him. They get to the ground and descend to a hidden boat, and escape as Speedy sets off explosives to cover their escape.
On the island, the leader, Sensei, discovers that Roquette completed her project.
At Mount Justice, the team goes out on the beach. They mourn their absent comrade... Wally, who has to go to class for the first day. They enjoy themselves while his day goes less than spectacular. That night, he arrives at Mount Justice, ready to party, and promptly trips. The rest of the team is there, and Green Arrow introduces his new protégé, Artemis. When Wally wonders why she's there, Speedy arrives and says that he's now using the name Red Arrow. He's angry that Green Arrow found a substitute for him so quickly, and Green Arrow explains that Artemis is his niece. Red Arrow explains that he rescued Roquette from the League of Shadows, but she had completed her work on a nanotech project named the Fog that consumes anything in its past.
At a lab in Miami, the Fog is unleashed and infiltrates the computer systems, stealing the raw data and feeding it to the shadow agents outside.
Red Arrow explains that Roquette is working on a virus to render the Fog inert. He's stashed her at a local computer lab in Happy Harbor, and refuses to work with the team now that Artemis is a member. He departs and the team heads for Happy Harbor.
Artemis and Aqualad watch over Dr. Serling, while Miss Martian telepathically links the team to avoid the enemy from tapping into their communications. Robin suggests that Kid Flash cut Artemis some slack, given she's the one who fired the arrow that saved him from Amazo. Inside, Serling complains that she's at risk, and Aqualad assures her that they'll protect her. She tracks the Shadow operatives and the Fog to Philadelphia, but they follow the signal back and inform Sensei. He tells them to send their closest agent to deal with her.
Superboy is guarding the perimeter and hears someone. Artemis sees him and expresses her admiration, even though she knows that the others can hear her telepathically. Serling completes her tracking program and Robin and Superboy take the bioship to Philadelphia. As they depart, a masked figure slips through the shadows outside the computer lab.
As Miss Martian and Artemis stand guard, Miss Martian complains that her new teammate embarrassed Superboy. Artemis insists that challenging everyone is how she survived.
Inside, Kid Flash hears someone moving and runs into the pool to check them out. He trips on ball bearings and the intruder knocks him out. She then goes into the lab and throws a poisoned shuriken at Serling. Aqualad takes it, and it seemingly fails to penetrate his skin. The intruder, Cheshire, attacks him and points out that the poison is slowing him down. Cheshire throws one of her sai at him, but Artemis arrives and deflects it.
Miss Martian telekinetically lifts Kid Flash out of the pool.
Cheshire soon realizes that she's outnumbered and uses a flash-bang grenade to disappear. Kid Flash blames Artemis for abandoning the perimeter, but Miss Martian says that she didn't do any worse. She assures Artemis that she understands. Robin and Superboy call in to say that they've arrived at STAR Labs in Philadelphia, and the Fog has destroyed the facility and stolen all of their information. Aqualad tells them to regroup and they'll move the doctor.
After moving Serling, Aqualad has Kid Flash and Artemis watch Serling, while Miss Martian guards the perimeter. However, Cheshire and two other Shadow agents attack him and knock him out. They enter the building and close in on Artemis and Kid Flash, while Serling struggles to complete her virus against the Fog. Cheshire draws a bead on Serling, but Miss Martian telekinetically uses a table to block her attack. The three assassins close in, only to discover that "Serling" is actually Miss Martian in disguise.
Aqualad goes to the Internet café where Serling is working on the virus. She tells him that she's almost done.
Robin realizes that the League of Shadows is targeting WayneTech industries. He starts to say what the League could do with the technology, but hastily shuts up before Superboy can realize what he's talking about. They don't have enough time to evacuate the building before the Fog destroys it.
Cheshire tells her fellow assassins to hold off Young Justice while she finds Serling. Artemis goes after her, ordering Kid Flash to stay behind despite the fact he doesn't like taking her orders. Outside, Cheshire uses infrared lenses to track Serling to the Internet café. Artemis goes after her and hits her with a stun gas arrow, but Cheshire reveals that her mask has filters. She knocks out Artemis and enters the café, and hits Aqualad with several poisoned darts. Overwhelmed, he collapses, and Cheshire moves in as Serling uploads the program.
As Robin confirms the program is downloading, Superboy spots the Shadow operatives. He tries to attack them but the agent stuns him with an energy beam and unleashes the Fog. Robin follows it inside and uses his knowledge of the override codes to get inside the building.
Miss Martian tells Kid flash that they need to end the battle. They take out their opponents.
The Fog spreads through WayneTech, and Robin links the program into the mainframe.
Cheshire prepares to kill Serling, but discovers that she finished the virus. The villainess says that her orders are to spare Serling in case the Shadows have a use for her in the future.
Robin finishes putting Serling's program into effect, destroying the Fog.
Superboy takes out the Shadow agent.
As Cheshire leaves the café, Artemis fires an explosive arrow at her, knocking her mask loose. Artemis recognizes her, and Cheshire asks if Artemis' position is secure enough for her teammates to learn what Cheshire knows about her. The heroine lets her go, and tells Kid Flash and Aqualad that she escaped. Kid Flash is disgusted that Artemis failed her part of the mission. Aqualad asks if Artemis saw Cheshire's face, but Artemis lies and says she didn't. He assures her that it's okay, and Roquette is safe thanks to her. He welcomes her to the team and shakes her hand, and convinces Kid Flash to do so.
Later, Artemis uses a concealed teleporter to go to Gotham City. Red Arrow is there, and says that they both know she's not Green Arrow's niece. He figures that Batman and Green have a reason for lying to the team, but warns her not to hurt his friends.
Sensei informs the Light's Board of Directors that they failed to get the information they needed from WayneTech. The Board is satisfied that they have an operative on the inside.

Dr. Roquette: She's getting away! You're letting her get away!
Kid Flash: (to Artemis) This is all your fault! You were on the perimeter. How'd that Shadow get in?
Miss Martian: That's not really fair. I was outside too.
Kid Flash: Outside, being distracted by her. Besides, I can't be mad at you. (telepathically) You gave me mouth-to-mouth.
Everyone: We heard that!
Kid Flash: Dang it!
